LC4 water pump

I just yanked mine cause I found coolant in the oil, and the seal was leaking cause the bearings were toast. 12k miles. The damn seal is $20. Sourcing the bearings from a brg shop, they're 6001's, pretty common.

Anyone else found this to be a problem on this motor? 2 years old, and they're toast. If it seems to be a problem, I'm gonna start replacing them every winter. Fuckers are cheap, motor ain't.

Anyone else got data on this?

Just over 14K on my 01 and still going strong. Can't say the same for the main shaft bearing that failed at 8500 miles.

Got to get this thing back together today, so I can get to work tomorrow morning. Wife is away, of course. With her car, of course.

Her car puked a crank seal last week too.

Somebody just shoot me.

mother of god...

think of it this way, you now have the motivation necessary to finish this 2nite. i am sure it won't be as "touchy" as the main bearing... (knock on creeper's head ).

It was gonna happen anyways. The truck is in pieces, and the Katoom is back together. Test ride complete, didn't find anything.

Which means that it'll blow up when I ride it to work in the morning, in 5 degree temps.

I need beer,

Comes in threes?

Taking a sickie sounds like a good idea to me. Mental strees is a good enough reason to take a day off for your health.

I would anyways, but it's nice of you to invite me to slap you around, especially considering how homicidal I've been feeling lately.

yeah

i hear ya. i found an untorqued primary driven gear nut on suzi. she rattled a bit, took off the clutch cover and fixed it in 15mins.

changed the oil in 5,

me

p.s. here's the drill for sue-zook.

take out oil plugs a and b without removing skid plate, let drain, replace plugs.

take off oil filter cover screws, 3, put in new filter, replace screws.

add 1.8l of motul 10w/40

ride her like you have for her first 16k miles, every damned day.

That's way too easy... not near enough suffering involved.
