So I stopped at the foot of a hill in the shade and got out my map. it turns out I could on for miles and miles.I was about to turn around, and a truck stopped to talk. "you peaked our curiosity. Have you been to the falls?" I came so close to missing this! Deadman Falls was only 1/2k up the hill!

Coming back from the falls down Deadman Vidette Rd.

A really spooky shack...

More spookiness across the way

All the dirt roads around here seem really smooth! hardly any washboard. Just a bit loose occasionally, and the odd cattle guard.

While setting up for this shot, a guy on a big ktm stopped, and was coming from Barriere! Man these roads go on forever!

This one is trying to lead the pack right onto the road! I wonder if they are as bad as deer?

A boneyard in the backroads

I'm amazed how determined trees are to try and grow here!

After over 100 Km of Dirt, I am finally back on pavement! That was well worth it! What was amazing, was that the pavement was barely smoother that the dirt! those roads were smoother than any back road i have rode on Vancouver Island!

Damn, that's a great ride. BC really is the best! I might have been past those rainbow hills, I'll have to dig up the photo to compare...
What a cool old graveyard too - always good places for a quick rest-stop.

Looks like it's time for a new rear sneaker!
I'm picking up a fresh set of TKC80s next week...

Kamloops Lake, is apparently part of the Thompson River. I wonder how much current there is?

I find camping in the interior to be much easier, mentally! I think it is because there are far less Cougars than Vancouver Island. You just have to train yourself to ignore the little sounds, because they are usually nothing.
On the flip-side of that, I have been stalked by a cougar while bicycle touring solo, camped out on the beach! I saw a set of low, close together eyes across a field, saw tracks earlier in day, as well as the animal swooping sideways into the bush as I crested a hill! the eyes of nearby raccoons were shifting cautiously, while the low-set eyes just stared! I yelled at it, threw things, and banged firewood together, nothing! I stared it down till first light, and didn't even see it leave! They say stand your ground, and fight like hell if it attacks.
Those are some spooky cats! When camping, I now carry bear spray, and a big frickin knife! Here is my Kit. I Didn't find time to use the fishing rod this trip!
