Another whatisit thread

A friend picked this up recently cause he thought it was cool. We were sitting around trying to figure out it's purpose and what it fits. Gas tank is small 1.5-2 gallons. All fiber glass. At first we thought it was for a dirt tracker but the back end is pretty wide.

Alot of holes.

Manufacturer is Tracy, writing says Honda can't read the rest. Google drew a blank.

Tracy made one piece fiberglass body/seat combos for a number of bikes... looks like yours is labeled for an MT250 Elsinore.

There is another one about 1/2 way down on the link below:

I'd be sure to line that tank with something alcohol proof if you want to use it.

As the previous poster mentioned, it's a Tracy body kit. They were popular in the '70's and maybe even the 80's. I had one on a '76 750F Honda around 1978.

They were very similar to the Triumph/BSA X-75 Hurricane bodies that Vetter designed back then but more afforadable to the common man (boys) of the time.

I am going to bet it had been moddified to fit on a Kawasaki Tripple since someone obviously added the three petcock holes.
