I'm thinking of joining this ride, but have a few questions.

  • Are we leaving our vehicles on the street near the McDonald's on Saturday morning?
  • Where is the Pinnacles staging area?
  • Where is the Saturday night campsite?
  • Can I join this ride on just Saturday morning or Sunday morning?
  • My Husky has about a 100 mile range. I can carry about an extra quart on my back, but a GS tanker would really help. Can any of the GS guys share a gallon? Siphon?
Thanks for planning this ride.

Ohhhh...I totally forgot I was holding that thing. When I looked at the pic yesterday it looked like it was hanging on a wire fence. I'll blame it on the small smartphone screen size

on the fuel i have a Klr will carry some for you. Im not the Smartest but i know that fuel from a BMW will cost a lot more then fuel from a KLR. not sure why that is but im sure it has something to do with the German Eng.

  • Are we leaving our vehicles on the street near the McDonald's on Saturday morning? Some folks will be leaving truck (day riders)
  • Where is the Pinnacles staging area? http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/california_12424/map_4bb1.htm
  • Where is the Saturday night campsite? PM M1jeep
  • Can I join this ride on just Saturday morning or Sunday morning? YES
  • My Husky has about a 100 mile range. I can carry about an extra quart on my back, but a GS tanker would really help. Can any of the GS guys share a gallon? Siphon? Bring your container is case you get separated. 100 miles will be OK.
In the past we have always made this a day ride. Some people parked at McDonalds and returned back at the end of the day. Other hit the FWY after P-Town. This is a long day ride that is why some folks are planning on camping. Gas will be staged at a max 100 miles we will stop in Big Bear on the way up and back.

BRING ALL THE STUFF YOU NEED TO CHANGE A FLAT ON THE TRAIL! THIS IS A MUST! check all your gear and make sure you have all the tools you need to change out a tube. Make sure Everyone brings a bike in proper running order. You can become very unpopular very fast if your bike is breaking down all day. Stuff happens and bikes break down but if you roll up with a chain that has 50,000 miles on it don't expect a lot of simpathy when it snaps. If you think you may need it bring it, You are going to be far from your truck and home and will be wishing you had it.
Thanks for planning this ride.[/QUOTE]

My cylinder and piston are getting measured rt now. Lets hope I just need new rings and a hone. The rings were way over the usable limit.

It looks like I'll park on the street near the McDonald's for a day ride on Satruday. I don't have a spare tube and kit, but will get one.
