I was thinking about the standard style GS-450 and 550. The GS500-E is pretty common over here but I 'm not sure how to tackle the square frame?

The cheap route is easier with the square section frame. Far easier to make the clamps up I imagine. Surprisingly torquey motor too, I was a bike instructor for years, we had over 30 gs500e's. Most were over 70k miles, no major issues, these were ridden by heavy handed novices and spent a lot of time sliding down the road.

Anyway,

REWORKED VITAL STATISTICS, in old fashioned measurements for you american types

Toe In----- 11/16
Lean Out- 3/8
Lead------- 9 1/2

Track was NOT 59''. My memory is failing me. My trailer has outer run centres of 41'', I have set this up at 44 1/2, I wanted wider due to its light weight and to get it on the three bike trailer. Hopefully it should go on easier.
Here are some pics of the finished chassis, fittings all on its three wheels painted with stainless hardwear.

Gonna leave the tail on the lower front swan neck, it may be a good place to mount a steering damper should I need one.

Riding/driving a hack without the body is not good. I think Ill wait thanks, its going to be a little 'twitchy' anyway. I shall enquire on my 14t front sprocket in the morning, easier to get that on before the tub is fitted. Stock is 15t.
Also, there appears to be a drain from the electrics somewhere, 0.02 amps with the ignition off. I hate this kind of thing. PITA

Hi, It cought my attention that you're buillding a light rig.

I finished (well... never gonna be finished, but rides) my Jawa 350TS - Duna rig, and it's really tough to negotiate turns towards the sidecar when the sidecar is empty. Which means ballast... I'm really interested in your results, so please post them with regards to this. My problems might be due to inexperience and not so-good setup.

I might just copy your set-up If you say it's stable.

By the way, what happened to the CZ? when I was working in the UK I was looking for a replacement engine for my old Jawa 350-634 but finally just got a Suzuki GS450. I bought one here though because I liked the peculiar way of those rough old 2 strokers.
CZ 350-ies are generally told to be far better bikes than Jawas. ;)

That lower rear mount might be a problem with slipping on the sidecar tube and going out of adjustment.

I made mine run all the way across (clamped on to the inner from below) to the outer sidecar frame tube.

The cz, its a 250, is still here. I guess after collection, buying a new number plate etc it owes me 150 pounds. It runs well and will normally fire straight up. Come and get it if you like.

I have really tightened that up as I was a little concerned. I may try to brace across to the outer rail as you have done, thanks for the heads up.

Just got down from the workshop, Ive painted the mudguard, rear luggage rack, inner chair grabrail and windscreen trim in dark red. Really looking forward to getting it all together.

Sure is, it has a drain somewhere, 0.04amps are escaping somewhere, pesky critters. Its gonna have to have an isolation switch somewhere for the time being, the next project is long overdue.Anyway, progress .................................................. ....................

The seta needs sorting, I fitted a siren with six different police, firetruck, ambulance sounds activated by a keypad in the cockpit. That should keep the little fella entertained.

Not easy to picture as the reflective panels are really bouncing the light back at the camera.

loads of ground clearance.

Have had no chance to ride it yet, rear suspension on the bike is VERY soft. May need to look at that.

What do you lot think????????????????/
