I have seen the twin piston, one sided sliding calipers used with spoked wheels on an a Airhead - my 93 VFR had them as OEM and they seemed to work OK on that.
A custom mounting plate is required, of course, but still a relatively simple conversion.

The Two Rim hubs were fitted to UK police bikes as well as the CS. They will also fit the ATE braked forks.
They're the most common Wire hub over here and obviously fit straight into the Brembo braked front end ![]() Unfortunately most look like this when you buy them. This one cost me £35 (around $50) but the prices have gone up dramatically since Retro became cool again. I have a few pairs of them but will be holding on to them. There's only a hundred or so of the old police bikes left --> http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/bmw_r80tic ![]() The Police bikes were R80 TIC models that were built as Police spec bikes for European Police forces. Realoem has the microfiches listing the wheels http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...52&hg=36&fg=05 Part number 36311237090 for the early hub (only fits the ATE forks) Part Number 36311242692 for the 1980 onwards hub - all here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...36&fg=05&hl=17 The part number cross references to these machines - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref....36312302282%09 Rob Farmer screwed with this post 09-19-2011 at 02:28 AM |
