Question KTM Advenure Windscreen

Hi All

First time on this site - just bought new '04 640 Adventure and dead chuffed with it (strange UK expression meaning very happy!!)

I've seen some pics of a tall windscreen on some bikes - anybody got the details?

Thanks

Congrats on the new bike.

I think most are using F650 windscreens.

Check out DirtyVFR's early posts on the "Mothership."

there is a lil' shot of it in the front. search for more - there is a thread on mounting too

Yebbut don't like the messy ways its mounted and all those lower patterns! A good replica could be mounted on the cusp ie right where the bend is and would look juicy in Black CF or yellow Kevlar; 03 + screen looks so puny!

Hasn't KTMate got a pattern for a rallye rep fairing with tall screen? I was just going to fit the deflector from Touratech to the top of my '04 screen. Welcome Happy Pants, where in the U.K. are you?

well... i just got off the phone with cee bailey in los angeles. they are willing to give a shot at manufacturing windshields for our bikes. ones with the correct profile across the front, rather than what i call :the gladiator helmet" look.

how many of you louts would be interested if we got a ktm 640 adventure specific shield at about the same cost as the f650 dakar one?

Would only be interested if it came with some sort of flexible/adjustable mounting (tobinators). If ya just punch some holes and screw it on - no thanks. There are too many variables in screen height & angle. Another really nice option would be to have it easily removeable.

FWIW - I'm in the process of making a custom fairing extension using an old sport bike fairing. It will have this

attached as well. The major advantage is adjustability. I'll play with the positioning of the primary fairing and use the "wing" to fine tune it.

Consider me in for one windscreen, blocking the wind during winter riding is a must.

Thanks for the info
