Tuacahn

Tuacahn outdoor amphitheater on the edge of St. George, near Snow Canyon. Now playing Aladdin and Hairspray.

Partial stage for Aladdin. Open to red rock cliffs as backdrop. Spectacular setting. Highly recommended if you are in town and inclined to this type of entertainment. Kids love it.

Looks like you and the family have been enjoying all the wheels in the garage! Wonderful rides they all must be.

Took some time to catch up with your thread after returning from our family vacation in Canada and Alaska (no TW boo hoo). Saw tons of motorcycles, some with ADV stickers and some not. Talked to a guy who traveled from Arizona on his way up the Dalton Highway. He didn't have a clue what ADV rider website was, so I guess he's not a member. He looked tired.

The terrain up yonder is quite a bit different than what you and I ride in. On the plus side of our area's, a whole lot less mosquitoes! I'll take the dryer climate you and I have.

My Mom and Grand parents live in Diamond valley, I have explored a little up there on my atv but I think next time I'm down there I'm going to do that loop on the XRL, Where do you start at? behind the cinder cone?

Nice family shot!

Holy crud, there really is a large ATV world out there. I'm sheltered living in So Cal. Mrs & I are currently in Richfield, UT dragging our travel trailer around and this campground is half full of ATV'rs. So i'm learning more about this Paiute ATV trail system that some say is up to 900 miles of dirt. I've got a couple in their 70's next to me that ride two-up on their monster, and the 'ol boy is just grinning ear to ear telling me about the roads they cover. My KLX is in the back of the truck, um.

Always enjoying your efforts RRR, thanks again!

Welcome to Utah (again), Sam!

Yeah, Utah, especially southern Utah is ATV heaven. Most of the minor towns allow ATVs on public streets and there are thousands of miles of dirt roads, tracks, sand dunes, etc. Take your pick. Quite easy to do a multi-day trip on ATVs staying at small hotels or camping. Drop in to town for dinner / food and gas, head back up into the hills to find a tent spot. I haven't done overnight ATV camping/hotel trips yet, but it can't be far off. Good fun and quite easy to carry the Dutch Oven!

Get that KLX out and take a spin. Can't go wrong anywhere, twisty pavement or dirt. Just stay off the interstate and you'll be having fun. Enjoy your travels!

Hey Wastegate84,

Starting point is left turn (heading north) just past LDS chapel (before Fire Station) as you enter Diamond Valley from highway 18. Left turn is on to black gravel road (flat) which gradually narrows, curves to right (east) and gains elevation. Enters Dixie National Forest and becomes Rt #033. Easy to follow up over Blake Gubler Pass then steep descent. Easy to reconnect on dirt directly to Diamond Valley. Not necessary to descend to pavement near MotoZoo which is my typical route.

Check out posts #57, #79, and #231 (shows detail on connection from Rt #033 back to Diamond Valley on dirt). You could do this whole ride on an ATV or a non street legal dirtbike as well.

Give me a "heads up" when you are back in Diamond Valley. If I'm free I'll ride up and do the loop with you. Easy way to beat the heat. Thanks for dropping in.

Yankee Meadows Reservoir

Early morning ride to Yankee Meadows Reservoir. From Brian Head you can get there on pavement (descending Parowan Canyon), or the more interesting dirt route via the Sydney Valley Road. Makes a nice circle.

Beautiful mountain reservoir. Nearby Second Left Hand Fork Road also great for dual sports (or ATVs and mountain bikes).
