Kitty's Hideaway - Victoria
Kitty's Hideaway is a great spot to have breakfast or lunch. Decent sized meals meals and the prices are OK.
Lots of parking off West Burnside Road. Always a favourite for the local hotrodders. Lots of hot rod photos on the back wall behind where they all sit. http://members.shaw.ca/KittysHideaway2/ ![]() Clubhouse Sandwich ![]() Photos of Hot Rods (notice BC Lion in TV before the Grey Cup win )

The Atlas Cafe in Courtenay. Kinda funky atmosphere, excellent food and service.
The Java Shack in Campbell River, best mochas I have ever had. As the young lady at the counter said when I asked how they made them so good, "It's the love." And at the other end of the province, Tetsa River Outfitters west of Fort Nelson, awesome cinnamon buns. |

Awesome steak
Next time someone stops at the Reid I highly recommend the stone-grill steak. It comes on a super-heated slab of granite and you have to cook it yourself but it's local beef, priced very well and if it isn't done right you only have one person to blame.

Blue Fox Cafe - Fort Street Victoria
The Blue Fox Cafe at 919 Fort Street in Victoria is excellent, especially if your looking for a casual meal. Breakfast and lunch menu served all day. Make sure you give yourself lots of time because line-ups can be expected, well worth it because of the great food.

The best
Well! You have not had food till you had food at the Coastal Kitchen Cafe in Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island. Everything is made fresh. Servings are great and as much as Tom and Jessica the owners can get locally they do. Seafood, veggies, meats. She make the world's best seafood chowder. Hell! everything she serves is the best i have had. The breakfast is to die for. Plus it is an awesome ride to get there. Either from Victoria or from up island through the Marine Circle route..

Theo's in Penticton
http://www.eatsquid.com/ The least expensive expensive food in the valley - and well worth it.

Theo's
Theo's has been in Penticton a very long time, I will defintely go back this summer. Burger 55 located near the the Starbucks in downtown Penticton also looks interesting.

i'll get to Burger 55 this spring and give you a report. That building used to be part of Larsen's Tire when they were on on Front Street as you can probably tell by the chain hoist. And speaking of Front Street, you should visit the Dream Cafe when you are in town. The food is great but that is not the real attraction. They get some pretty big name entertainment in a real intimate setting. I saw Stephen Fearing and the Wailin' Jennys there among others and it was truly unbelievable. Highly recommended.
