This is my last foto of the ride - took a picture while in the rain and suddenly the camera malfunctioned before the last site. At least did not go home empty handed and the ride back to Yogjakarta was without pictures.

Set the ride back at 3pm and arrived at Yogyakarta at 6pm. During the path back went past other temples in Magelang another city in central java such as the famous Borobudur and Mendut. I did not drop by just passed by. But i promises you that one day i will be back to document the trip and temples

For now cheers

:)

Good stuff. It goes to show that you don't need an expensive BMW and state of the art photography equipment to have a good look around and make some good memories. Keep that little KLX pinned to the max mujiburrahman.

the ride to rejo temple in gunung kidul

I used a small scooter honda impressa 100 cc. I started from the city of jogjakarta and headed east to the prambanan temples. I did not stop by - may be some other times I will make the report to prambanan temples. On the red light I turn right heading to a place called piyungan.

It takes 30 minutes to prambanan from jogja and another 15 minutes to piyungan. On the way to piyungan there are more temples such as ijo temple the highest temple in jogjakarta on a top of the hill and then ratu boko temple. Arrived at piyungan there was a market at the red light then turn left.

The market was totally damaged at the 2006 earthquake at jogjakarta and central java that killed about 6000 people. - remember the place because it was turn into a evacuation camp in the region.
The ride from jogja to piyungan takes 45 minutes with good flat roads.

Next starts the climb up with the small motorbike a 100cc honda. It is very hilly and steep. !ut it has a great view of the city of jogjakarta and the mount merapi volcano. The road ups and downs with sharp lefts anf right turns. In the past I have passed this area with losts of crashes of trucks and cars falling down into the cliff.

After 1 hour riding you reach a place called wanagama which is research forest. It used to be a baron land dry no vegetation after extensive logging in the 60's now it is rehabilitated into a lushesh green forest. A good place to rest.

After the forest we are getting close to the city of wonosari but we turn left to a small village called semin. That is the place for with the temple of rejo.

After 2 hours of riding from jogja we arrived at temple of Rejo just means rock. Or just a pile of stones.

It is hard to find the place since there are no signs. But we ask the villagers and gave us the directions. We found the place it is just behind a newly built church in the region.

It looks like a small temple ruins. Being left to rot no protection from the elements

A one meter high barb wire fence around the perimeter of the temple.

This temple is totally eaten up by time and forgotten from the face of the earth.

Cheers get the photos as soon as possible.

Cheers
