Yup, it looks good. It's a little flimsy compared to the stock BMW cooler, but I'll add a mount to each top corner to stiffen the mounting and it'll be fine.

I got my intake mounting tabs made:

and battery tray made before the kids got here:

I drilled the tank for the new petcock bungs to get welded in and washed the debris out.

It didn't seem like I got much done with the guys here, but it helps to talk about the project to make sure I'm not missing any details. I was showing Jeff how the tank mounted and realized I hadn't tried the tank on since the air cannister went in, had to raise the rear of the tank by an inch or so...whew, easy fix.

Random pics, I don't know what I took the pictures for...I'm exhausted.

I'm in the home stretch now. I have a couple of welds to do on the frame in the morning, need to measure for a little extra clearance at the main mounts, some paint and final assembly starts tomorrow.

Thanks for the help today guys!! Thanks for the loan of the twinmax, Mike..hopefully I can make it idle tomorrow as I'm still waiting for the throttle cables.

Finally got a good nights sleep, didn't even wake up in a cold sweat screaming about Motion Pro.

Started this thread yesterday asking about the final drive bearing BMW can't seem to keep in stock...good grief, that was easy...keep a box of them in stock BMW and when people like me come along that don't care if the box says BMW on it, you can sell me one.

Thanks to the peeps in this thread for help:

Worked my tail off today, I'm beat...

Found the bearing I need at the local auto parts store.

Finished the intake and shot some paint...man, that felt great!!

Welded the bungs in the tank.

Put a spot of paint on it so it doesn't rust on this trip. I'm going to get my buddy Matt to do something cool with the airbrush on the tank later.

Made up some mounts for the new cooler.

Welded a bung into the intake for the crankcase breather.

It's done. Warmed it up in the sun before paint.

Beer and a c-gar, I deserve it.

Primer going on.

Starting the black...need another can of black to finish it up.

I'm really proud of the intake, love how it turned out!!!

Mike54 came over and hung out for a while. Here he is heading off into the afternoon on his Harley

Rob is a stylin' welder.

Looks like a 70's disco king.

No pix of JStory.

Rob's ideas of a shop hammer - the claw is more useful than a peen.

Gotta make some holes in this thing or it's just not a real conversion.

The superspine!

Makin' room for the slave. . .

Is Gillafunk around?

This must be some kinda hooka.

It was great to sit around and hear the stories about how you came up with all this stuff, Rob.

And the killer lunch Becky made.

Congrats on getting the bearing from the local parts house!

That intake looks great - you did a great job making that up from scratch.

Final coat of paint went on.

Instead of watching paint dry, I decided to see if the new trials bike runs. Replaced the fuel line and it fired right up...much easier than the 490.

The list is getting smaller, I'm down to stuff I can do quietly at night, so it's going to go quickly now.

Still waiting on my cables from Motion Pro. Motion Amateur sent me a customer service survey for the product I "recieved"...I'm going to unload on them once I get my muther truckin' throttle cables.

Cool TY! But there's way too much air in those tires, try it again with about 3lbs... your stationary balance will improve 100%.

Yeah, I had just put 30 psi in them so they'll hold air for awhile, just getting pushing around the carhole right now.

I'm saving up for a KLR, if I count the beer cans I crushed this morning I think I have enough.

Survey submitted to Motion "Pro":

This purchase isn't really fair to the vendor that shipped it. I had to order it this way because your custom build shop can't seem to grasp the concept that if somebody orders parts for a custom build 9 days out, that you don't sell said parts to somebody else in the interim. When a customer makes a custom order you should take the parts for that build out of stock at that time, put the parts in a box with that customers name on it and wait for the build date to arrive. It's crappy business to tell me on my build date that you have sold my parts to somebody else and it's on me to scramble and blindly order from your site to "hope" for a part to magically appear on my doorstep.

That's IT?

Nothing about how they got it WRONG, after missing the ship date? And then made you wait several more days to get it right on their 3rd try?

Can't blame you for not wasting any more time on their poor business practices...
