Bolt Part Number?
Nick - what is the part number for those bolts you used to put on your skid plate and where did you get them? I need a new set for my bike. Thanks.

Jack, the ones in the picture are from "Twin headlight Ernie" who is the inmate that made the really nice bash plate this thing is sporting. I could use a couple also. Contact him directly for the bolts, I guess.
I can dig up a picture of the stock PD Skid plate bolts (which I like because they are not allen bolts) for you. --Nick |

I've been trying to find those for awhile. The ones on what I think are my Touratech bash plate are needing replacement. I'll give him shout soon. Thanks for that.

A thread somewhere lists the part numbers to get the T.H.E. screws and spacers from McCar-Master...

I should get out more and start beating the bushes around here for more fastener dealers - spread the net farther, so to speak. Every time I walk into some supplier up here, I always seem to draw a blank. I suspect that there's more down there in Washington State - you're lucky down there Solo.

Ok I made it back from the trip, it was awesome.
I'm trying to put a bona fide ride report together, and a video from the "go pros" a couple of guys had. So bear with me, meanwhile, enjoy these pics: http://nick.adjective.com/images/TAT/ |

The bike came with the "pucks" welded to the frame.
We went though a water crossing(s) and my bike would stall. Then it rained on us and it started to run on one cylinder. So we pulled over to look, took off the tank, and both of the mounts came off! Crikey! We did a temporary repair with an old sold and a piece of purple climbing rope (which worked perfectly for an entire day of off-road riding). Then I found Butch as you see in the pic, who did a farm weld; meaning, no cleaning of anything, he just welded that shit back together! |

HAHA! Good one!
ALL DAY it was easy-ass gravel roads, then you make a turn and start this narly rocky climb! Just came out of nowhere. I bounced up and down and ended up pointing in the wrong direction and ended up stalling the GS. In that brief stop, I stared to slide backwards down the hill, the front wheel locked up and digging a trench! I think I ended up in that bush right behind your bike in this picture! LOL Over on my side pissing gas onto my smoking hot "collector" which starts to throw up massive amounts of steam! Ho Shit! I picked up that pig as fast as I could fired it up, and back up the hill! |

Final Torque
That's my wrench..... I know where you live. I'm having withdrawels.....How was Hollister? I feel like this wheel has come off and on about seven times in the last few days. I wish I could change the oil with the bash plate on. Maybe next time this comes off I'm getting the whole saw out... --Nick[/QUOTE]

. That's pretty strange considering that Canada went metric in 1977. I also sent out a p.m. to Ernie but I have yet to get a response. We don't have a 'Tacoma Screw' or anything else from what I can tell. Oh well, I'll keep looking.
