I-95 restriction at Lake Marion (SC)

I am planning on doing a saddlesore 1000 from NC to FL and back in the next few weekends, though I see that there is construction on the bridge crossing Lake Marion, which will reduce north-bound traffic to one lane. They are suggesting that people find alternate routes, though I am hoping that some locals can advise if this is really necessary. Obviously I can just route my trip around it (going through Columbia is probably easiest) but I would prefer to keep it simple and just stick to I-95. I would likely get to the bridge in the 7 to 9pm range on a Saturday or Sunday night.

Any other things to be aware of on this route? It seems like it should be an easy trip.
