Some Colorado and a little Moab

Last year Travis AKA MossyCreek or MCC and I took Doc LeWall to Salida and rode the TAT West to East to Arkansas. We had a lot of fun and Doc learned how to change a tire. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=590170

This year we wanted to start in Salida Co. and ride the TAT West and ride some of Moab. When Doc was asked to go he muttered something about patches or beaches.....

MCC [Mossy Creek Cycle] and I have the bikes loaded at the Firehouse waiting for him to get off shift.

The Oklahoma Panhandle on US-412.

Coming up on Raton Pass.

We slept with the Bears in Salida!

The next morning we took the truck to a local firefighters home to leave it and off load the bikes.

Thanks to Fireman May!

Leaving Salida for Hancock Pass.

Not far up Hancock I realized that the WR250R is overweight, I'm overweight and we're both short on oxygen.

Lets take a break.

Travis [MCC] was quick to help after the obligatory pictures were taken.

While it looks like I'm adjusting my hydration pack i'm actually looking everywhere for the missing oxygen.

More later...

Yeah, I don't know how anyone that short on oxygen could have that much hot air.

Good start, I know what you mean about the air ata 12k feet.........there ain't none!! You are packing quite the load there Nuke. Leave it at the base camp if you can. That worked really well for Oleary and I when we rode Moab. Major difference.

Keep it coming.....

Base camp was the truck Mike. We wouldn't see that until it was time to go home. I was carrying too much "stuff". If I had been 13X49 instead of 13X47 on the sprockets I don't think I would have had an issue.

Mossy Creek said his XR650R felt like a 350 and I was down on power by half. Funny thing is on the way back I climbed Monarch Pass in 5th w/o a problem.

I'll post some more in the A.M. Thanks for looking.
