I was wondering if you would pop up in here again, and I'm glad you did. Do you need any help at LG for 2015?

morning, yes its been a while. final year of uni was pretty intense.

if you or any others are out there, I could use some help driving support vehicle around/loading/unloading/moral support/advice when stuff blows up/etc.

Dad advised he is unavailable to go out again so currently i am going solo, and ill be also swapping my RX7 or Husqvarna TE510 for a ute before March. Depending which i am least unhappy about letting go.

I've penciled it into my diary. If you need assistance over there (pit crew, hands, beer), let me know

Sounds good. Its a fun week.
More like ride the bike a few times and admire all the cool machinery the rest of the time.

Good to see the hard work is paying off. I'll still be here in 2015 and '16, Bonneville is on the list, might just have to see you there. Keep me posted on your plans

Any info on surface conditions after the rain events in Northern SA last week?
I am planning on going so will look forward to seeing you scream up the track.
Cheers AJ

wouldnt worry too much,
water dries up pretty quickly out there, unless it rains very heavily in the few weeks before speedweek it is not of much concern.

What Charlie said. Worry about the lake surface when we are a couple of weeks out.

I'm happy to be your pit monkey and drive the chase car Charlie. I have volunteered for a couple of afternoons, start line and timing van, but I am otherwise available. Cheers.

Yep. I did an afternoon last year on the start line, it's great fun actually. Then the following afternoon I sat in the timing van and had a lovely chat with the president of the SCTA, who let me play with his new Canon 1D and 300mm L series prime lens. He was a really nice bloke, and did a fantastic commentary to boot. I've done pick-up-and-return runs for some of the fast cars too, and clean-up runs out on the main course after someone loses a bolt or throws a conrod. I've spent a little time out at the 5-mile island too with a camera, but I needed a bigger lens.
It's all good fun, and it's nice to contribute to the running of the event.

Yeah, I signed up for volunteering for a few sessions when we were out there with the bike when i wasnt running, we went to the locations but turned out we werent really needed so ended up just hanging out.

I havent been following the DLRA news much until now. but have obviously signed up and paid for the 2015 entry.

I plan to get pre-scrutineered at some point when the bike is more complete, engine internals are going to the ceramic coating place before then though, and then a dyno session and a heap of welding to do.

Good to hear; only reason I ask is no idea if it's the regional collection point for surface water I have strong memories of being stuck up to my swing arm in black clay on/in Lake Torrens South near Andamooka a number of years ago.
It had not rained for months before hand however the long lunch at the Opal Inn would have also been a contributing factor.
