"Two short sections of the Parkway remain closed due to damaging tropical storms from last fall. The section between NC Highway 80 and Mt. Mitchell State Park (milepost 344-355) is expected to reopen Memorial Day. The section south of Linville Falls, between US 221 and Bear Den Mountain Road near Spruce Pine (milepost 317-325)should reopen in mid to late summer. "

Thanks for the heads up - looks like we get off at Blowing Rock this year for Hot Springs/DG. I had to detour off once before on to NC 80, glad we had to, the roads from there on were more fun that the BRP. Also had to jump off once just north of Asheville - that sucked.

Ack! !

Nah, you're right. The exits on the brp just north of Asheville do suck. Unless it's 74, and only if you head east. Right XT?

Thanks for the brp info, . Still faster then expected though.
