Speaking of moving my soul, I am leaning hard toward Triumph. I think the DL-650 wins the comparison test with the NC700X, at least in my mind. While it pushes all my "practical" buttons, it doesn't really move me. The Triumph America is about the same price and has TONS of aftermarket support. There is a lot of customization that can be done with it.

I don't mean to take anything away from the NC700X. It's a great bike and I like it a lot.
Based on the performance numbers of the 865cc Triumphs and the Nomad, say what?

If it's faster then most cars out there, it's fast enough.
Even a Ninja 250 can beat most of them off the line, so..

Fast enough is different for EVERYBODY !!!.
For me if it can do the speed limit on the interstate than thats good nuff for me.I'm waaaaaay past the " I gotta be the fastest thing on the road " stage.
I roadraced for years and rode my race bikes on the street, got in trouble alot but had fun.Now my thrill is being able to ride all weekend on 4 gallons of $4.00+ a gallon gas !!.

Thanks dduelin, I got the Tracksides on order the minute I saw Northwest's photos of his install.

The DCT has so many controls up by the left grip that I was concerned about finding a length of bar that would locate the left inner mounts. TheTrackside mounting looks like it extends the mount down past the bar's bend, which should work.

I've got four dealers in my area with left over 2012s. The best offer I've gotten is $6600 OTD with a centerstand. This is the manual trans model. Is that a good enough deal to jump on? Just wondering how others have done. Thanks.

That's quite a bit less than I paid last summer when these first hit the dealers. Plus Cali tax is kinda high, but that's over a grand less than I paid OTD. I'm actually debating on checking w/ the dealers to see if they have any leftover ABS models to see what kinda deals they would make on one of them. I really love that 2013 red model though...

I'm glad you worked it out but just to clarify CRM signifies center mounting. The inner mount is near the center of the bar next to the handlebar clamp. The clearance problem with any guards will be the clutch cable adjuster and brake fluid reservoir not the DCT control pod.

I paid about $8,000 OTD for manual about 4 months ago.

OTD means different things depending on location. For clarity, it helps if when you say Out The Door, does that include sales tax title and license fees? Here in IL if a dealer sells a bike to an IL resident, it includes all of that. If it is sold to out of state buyers, they normally don't include TTL, as that is paid when the buyer registers it in their state. Some states do require the dealers here to collect sales tax, though.

It includes all title and license fees, no sales tax here.
