So it's a Honda Wee then?

The Honda "Wee Tourer"

So Mr Plugs, are they making them or is this a ADV interest gathering exercise?

I Rest My Case... Nope, they are really going to build it. Unfortunately.

48 BHP?

You gotta be kidding me.

Seems like H is determined to use that alien headlight on everything these days.

In Honda's defense, I thought this thing was supposed to be ultra frugal for people paying $2.50 a litre.

You don't get big HP while sipping gas. It's that bloody physics thing getting in the way again.

Wasn't that the big deal earlier in the thread? like 70MPG or something? Try getting that out of your Tiger.

So for those people in Caracas paying 12 [edit 1.2 cents ] cents per litre, I suppose it's a bit of a laugh, but others may like it.

As long as the tank is bigger than 5 litres.

5 litres? That's like 1.5 gallons, eh?

Anyway, I'm happy with the 55mpg I'm getting out of El Tigre, but that's really not what this thread's about.

So I take it we won't be seeing a flurry of inmates, demanding it be imported to NA ?

I thought they disbanded the DN-01 design team ?...

The bike, from what I see, sucks. However maybe it would help to do some paradigm shifting in terms of motorcycle fuel economy. In Europe we have some 5 door, 5 seat diesel cars that get well under 4l/100km (60mpg) on a relaxed drive. They weight almost 1,5 tons.

We ride 200kgs bikes that have a hard time to get under 5l/100km or over 47mpg with any kind of riding. Do all bikes really need to have sports car like performance? Are we really that spoiled?

My only tranportation is a 110hp, 260kgs bike. It doesn't needs much more than 3s to reach 100km/h. Is it fun? Hell yes. Do I need it all the time? No. I would love to have a button on my bike that would change the engine management to an output of something like 40hp and an average 3l/100km or less. And please don't come with the "just get a smaller bike" thing. Big bikes are much more than power. They are stability, space, loading capacity and durability.

The fuel prices will continue to rise, EVERYWHERE. The only way that traditional internal combustion engines have to survive is to become more and more eficient. Otherwise they'll just become very expensive toys, or even worse, historical toys. And I prefer a internal combustion engine over any kind of electric any day of my life...
