Lets ride to Monte Negro

the bay of Kotor

we decided to take the ferry with two dutch riders

past Sveti Stefan

over awesome passes and backroads

direction Scutari lake National park

enjoyed some last views down to the sea

crossed the Scutari lake

past a cemetery for burned cars (the hell knows what they are doing with their cars here )

coming closer to the Albanian border

the last pass on a backroad to the Albanian border

tight ways

passed a lot of lakes on unpaved and sandy ways

somewhere down the road we arrived after hours and hours the Albanian border

Some words to Albania..... the whole country has a wonderfull nature and one of the beautyfulliest landscape we have seen. The sad thing is that our pictures are not representing what we have really seen there in this country.

The whole country is full of waste and it stinks everywhere....on every corner...on every street....The cars blowed out their black axhaust emissions!

A horrible und unbelievable environmental pollution!

Sometimes we where really speechless...sometimes we where really sad about that!

Thats a very very sad thing for Albania and for the tourists which are coming to see Albania and travel through this country.

After leaving the big cities you will find a landscape and a nature you can not pay for it!

The street from the border to Shkoder...30km of destroyed street....broken rocks and stones...full of every kind of potholes....dust....mud...and i dont know what else we needed 2 hours

sometimes you need some gas in the middle of the moon...a good chance for a smalltalk and to get some informations about the street

an accident...no wonder when you see how they drive here
they drive without any regards....they overhaul you when its possible and when its not possible....crazy

the two guys on the bridge are throwing down some nails into the wooden bridge i send some prayers above and hoped they found all nails

was pretty empty on the highway

Shkoder in front of us

here we found some little asphalt

break in Shkoder....coffe and some cold mineralwater and then ...doing nothing for an half hour

Nothing special in Shkoder....cars...Mercedes Benz.
Albania is full with Mercedes Benz cars...old ones...newer ones...and brandnew mercedes....

Iam sure that mercedes has here in Albania a top secret testcenter for their cars....and they sell them cheap...who knows

After we saw all mercedes models which where build in the last 60years....lets ride out of the city.....baaah

We wanted to reach Koman till tonight.....our destination for today....and we should need 5 hours for less then 60km....5 awesome hours

On the bike and out of the city

more often signs to Koman...less traffic ....always higher attitude...more often nothing around us...and this was good

never seen a Beamer before

In the middle of the Albanian Alps

German Q meets Albanien Q

my buddies with the long ears again....

hell yeah.....Wooohooo

more fun without helmet

its burning....

a good place to take a picture...on the whole road we meet only one car....only animals....during our brakes we became earache from the silence around us.....

Animals...heres one more

God must had a good day when he made this

Sometimes you have days while you ride you will not arrive ...you will only ride...ride...ride.

But if you have a destination...you will arrive sometimes....but it was ok because we had so much hunger at evening!

Ok...we are in Koman now...a little village with nothing....but there was a sign with "hotel" on it.....thats good for the beginning

A little smalltalk with the owner....he had a room for us and he gave me a cold beer for welcome....i liked him very mucho

no luxux...but the room was good.
But damn...no food here

There was a bar with restaurant some meters away on a bridge....so lets have a walk...dont want to ride anymore for today!

We arrived the bar...very small place...2 tables outside...5 inside...on a very nice and idyllic river...not so bad if you think about that this village exists only from a hotel and a bar

here i could find the most important thing tonight

we had a wonderfull diner at this place...bbq at its best!!

after diner and some beers we wandered back to our hotel...good night for today...lets see what the next day will bringl

At the next morning we went up to the ferry to cross the river to Fierze.

Aha...a wall...looks that we are on the right way...

before we ride into the tunnel we meet a securityguy with his AK47....he looked a little bored

here we are....

ant then comes the ferry..."we sink" thats for sureShippingtime will takes 2 hours...if we not sink!....i would say the chances where 50:50

we met some bikers from czech repuplik....and my wifey is checking while i talk to the czech bikers our lifeinsurance

after the ferry was empty...she come up for 2-3 meters off the water

one of the czech bikers

on the ferry...first they fill in new oil for the engine...

and here you can find the old oil....

3 cans of 25 liters with old ferry-oil from the engine...the albanian way of ecology

Sad but true..

And here an albanien guy i made jokes with hime...a nice guy

the czech bikers...

and then the ferry startet over the komanlake

time for doing nothing....

That cemetery for burned cars is actually Police compound for cars that were seized in arrests and cars which were taken for customs check. Some of those cars were even on Interpol lists of stolen cars. Then one day at 42 C..somebody was smoking........10 hours later.....700 cars were burned......

We've got a saying in Holland : Zoals de waard is, vertrouwd hij zijn gasten".

Free translation: You can trust the motel owner as much as he treats his gasts. You must have made a good impression .

The route from the day before....till close to the Bulgarian border

The motel chief...i think he was still drunken

today we want to ride to Rila and have a look at the Rila Monastery

After some kilometers we reached the Bulgarian border....one truck...nothing more....showed the passports...3 minutes later we are in Bulgaria

5 min after the border a borderpatrol stopped us on the lonely street.
The borderpatrolguy came to us and asked us some funny stuff:

BP: Where are you coming from?
I: Öhm....from Macedonia!?
BP: Where are you going?
I: Öhm...Bulgaria !?
BP: Safe trip and have a good day

Aha....a very illuminating conversation....but a friendly guy

Sometimes they write in normal letters...but nor very often...and now i can read it perfect

at afternoon we arrived Rila monastery.....

Maybe we had luck...no big trouble here...

the following pictures from inside the monastery are absolutely illegal and i made them in a top secret mission....OMG i hear the hellfire calling me

we sponsored a candle

the Bulgarian people invented the exhaust hood...no joke...here you have the evidence

and now...enough with the heavenliness
