Till tonight we should come only come till Obarsia Lotrului kommen....its less then avillage....its nothing....expect a parting of the ways, a campingplace....and something like a roadhouse

Before we started the Transalpina it began to rain a little.....rainsuits on...in the meanwhile i talked with the grandpa....

From where are you coming?...Where are you going?...Everything is good...have a good trip and take care of you both!......friendly guy....i think he is still sitting there

Insiderinformations told us that the road is made brandnew with best tarmac...hmm.....maybe i took a wrong road

who needs tarmac !! when you van have this....love that shit

place for two cars...

Found a little tarmac section

You have some meters of tarmac....and the miles of gravel....

with mud and water on the road...wooohoooo

oops

After hours we came to a parting of the ways.....left side nothing....right side also nothing....on the other side a roadhouse.....time for a refreshing with non alcoholic beer!
After some minutes it was getting dark...so i decided to drink a normal beer with alcohol and to stay here for overnight....to ride this road in the dark is not a really good idea!!

my new buddy...he likes my Beamer

Sometimes you meet some crazy people on such travels.....this guy is from grat britain and he left GB 5 weeks ago with his bycycle to across europe....and now he is on his way back Not bad

We are done....cold beer is a good idea

Our room....happy to find one

A Tchechoslowakian africatwin rider came late in the evening and took one of those cabins....

one more....

we spent a really good night with this guys...the others came by from the campingplace for a visit........

blind on one eye i left late and was happy to find my bed

What should i tell you...everybody knows the result of tooooo much beer and tschechoslowakian sliwowitz

The omelette will bring all to the good....i hope

The guys prepared for leaving.....

and we tried to find this brandnew made transalpina road again....with a little headache

I was so concetradet (headache) that i missed the one and only crossroad....so we had to ride 30km back after we found out our mistake

The crossroad was as big as a landingfield....i did really not see it

Back on the right road....

I found a nice river and thought this will be a good place for a beamerwash

in Germany they would bring you to prison for doing that ....

let kids play

a place to be

after hours of riding i didnt seemed immediately that the landscape changed....and also the road...heres the brandnew made road....

we climbed up...

Wow....we really didnt await something like this....

we are happy and disbelieving....

we are staggered....

It was really cold and windy.....

You have to come here to believe it....

its not far to the clouds....

I tried to climb that hill to take some pictures.....

but the bike was little to heavy with all that luggage....so i had to torn on a heavy way on that hill......turn the bike on a hill...good that i know how to do it...without falling down backwards the hill

After the bike turning i ride back to my girl...the better idea

into the couds...and through the clouds...

hours later the first houses appeared since two days....

it was not really late that day but we where so tired and done that we decided to find a good place to stay tonight (my sliwo headache didnt left me)
we found a good place.....had awesome diner...and felt in sleep very early that evening.

The carpathian mountains from our balcony....

Transalpina...how cool is that

excellent photos

Wow excellent RR with just a great balance of photos versus sentences... as is often said, a picture paints a thousand words. So thanks for sharing all the painting from that part of the world. One picture that stood out, though they all are great, is this one...I noticed that the tide mark is much higher than where the water level was in the photo. But, more significantly is that when the water is at the higher level it is not far from the bottom of that road bridge

Thank you both, for the journey

Why touristfake - castle?

Because Mr. Dracula has never been there and has absolutely nothing to do with this castle

Funny, I had exactly the same experience. I found a parking, and the first thing I heard when I got my helmet off was 1, I asked for what, parking, I then asked for how long my 1 would allow me to park, and was told 1.... needless to say that was the only money the local tourist organization got from me..

Very interesting and entertaining RR and pictures.
Allow me a little correction, though: Vlad Dracul (name derived from being "vested into the Order of the Dragon.") was Vlad Tepes ("Impaler") father, while Mircea cel Batran was his grandfather. Vlad Tepes (14311476) was indeed born in that house (see wikipedia), but "Dracula" is his father's moniker that gets people confused because of Bram Stoker's novel.
