Don't feel bad...I called Triumph corp headquarters to find out when my bike will be delivered and they never called me back. I think the bottom line is none of them know whats going on with this bike yet. The bikes show up when they show up then they sell them. We never talked price because they are not sure yet. I just put money down on the first blue one. No one can even guarantee me I will get a launch pack so it's hit or miss. Sales guys at dealerships usually don't get back to you right away via email...me too have to wait days for return emails, thats the way that busibness is they thrive on walk in business. Anyway money talks on new units because they will probably sell most all of them. The bike is as fast as my speed triple. I almost bought a Tenere then I rode one at Martins and I'm glad I did. I was just at the right place at the right time as far as the road test goes.

I read a lot of tests on both bikes and only a few things rang true...you need to test ride bikes these days. When I have more time I will do a write up on both bikes. I've been riding for 35 years....used to race motocross in the late 70's early 80's.

If you PM I'll give you my number and we can talk if you want and I'll give you my riding impressions.

Question

Does anyone (here in the US) know what the launch pack adds to the base model price?

Cheers
Jack

I was quoted 16699.00 with launch kit at my dealer... But there is also a note on the quote saying "final pricing has not been released yet" and that this is an "estimate only"

If it helps at all it was about $1400 CDN more for the launch kit. When I factored in labor costs/ potential wait times for the upgrades I decided it was worth it.

If I won a lottery and had $19K in cash, I still would hesitate throwing it on new bike. Considering it will still require a few grand in farkles, or more...

So, if I win something, it better be the Explorer already...

Gotta play something to win something...

If someone who purchased the bike in the US can give the answer to this. I just spoke to my dealer and he told me the launch pack has to be paid for as part of the bike separately. I thought Triumph was going to install them for free as a launch pack as Yamaha did with the Tenere and the saddle bags.

He said the launch bikes come with the launch pack in the create and are demo bikes only. He said the manufacture sells them the launch pack to display and gives them 10% off parts. He also said all launch packs has to be assembled at the dealer and are not sent on the bike from the factory......not sure I believe that.

If you go on Triumphs site and use the create your own option it's lists the U.S MSRP at $15,699 then you add your accessories. I built one with almost every accessory expect the painers and it came to an additional $4,089 not including labor.

Mine is here!

Just got a call from my dealer. My Explorer is there & ready to be picked up. They had just told me May 12th last week.

Dammit, of course I'm not able to get it for 2 more days due to work commitments. (unless I can come up with an excuse, think I'm feeling the flu coming on )
