Best free .MOV editing software to use with Drift HD170 Stealth Camera

PC user here running Windows 7. I am a new Drift 170HD Stealth camera owner and, like most, want to edit my movies after shooting. Do I have to convert to .AVI or .WMV to use Windows Movie Maker or is there a good freeware program that does it all and maintains the .MOV packaging?

I use Windows Live Movie Maker and just import the movie and then do my editing. I have no idea what file extension it uses it just does it I do take the SD card out of the Drift and load direct into the computer.

Thanks Jerry...Hmmmm...thought I read that Windows Movie Maker was not compatible with the Drift movies w/o converting them first.

Don't believe everthing you hear
I use an HP box with a card reader in the front and just upload my SD card in the card reader and have had no issues. I don't remember needing an add on to do this.

Depends which version you are running. If you are running Windows XP then you would need to convert the files first. If you are running Windows Vista you need to do the free upgrade to Windows Movie Maker live (search on google and you should find it pretty easily). If you have Windows 7 then you already have Windows Movie Maker Live and should be fine.
