Also, a few weeks ago you gave a very detailed explanation regarding pairing iPhone 5s, Sena SMH10 and NAV 5. I followed instructions and was successful however Siri does not activate when I hold down phone button. This did not work prior or after iOS 7.1 upgrade.

Thank you.

Nick
Purchased the NAV5 Automotive Kit at my BMW Dealer--only place they are available.

On my SMH10-R, I hold the phone (middle) button down until I hear a Medium Tone followed by two Low Tones and then a High Tone at which point I release the button and wait until I hear the Siri (Voice Control) Chime from the phone. Then I speak....

I'm not able to use properly my iPhone5 anymore with the Nav V after updating to iOS 7.1. Bluetooth disconnect, can't place call, etc. etc.
A couple of days ago before updating anything was working!
Anyone had the same problem? Any solutions?
Thanks a lot friends!!!

Are there any differences in the car cradle and a car cradle for a 660/665?

I paired my iPhone to the Sena prior to getting my NAV 5 and it worked as you advised. Once paired the 3 together as you advised Siri wouldn't activate. I would hold down the phone button and eventually it would go into pairing mode.

Thanks

Nick

You're holding down the "phone" button to long. I would suggest reading your Sena manual.

16 GB card works fine. Just "slid" my iTunes selections onto it and plugged it into the Nav V. My problem, as stated 5-6 weeks ago, is that I could not import Playlists and the solution outlined on this forum worked just fine except it was on only one track at a time! At that rate I'd have all my Playlists organized by Christmas. Bummer.

Unlike the 660/5 the Nav V has no speaker, so the Nav V car cradle has a speaker in it. (as far as I am aware, I have not seen one in person yet)

My car has bluetooth. I wonder if I can bluetooth the Nav 5 to the car and have it use the car's speakers, just like my phone does?

Why not? It's an HFP/HSP device.

As Emoto speculated, there is a speaker in the NAV5 Car Kit Mount.

If you create your play list in iTunes you can convert it rather easily with a text editor so that the NAV5 can use it. I have multiple playlists and one with over 2200 tracks in it.

There is a post of mine with the "how-to" somewhere around here or the other four or five NAV5 threads. Basically, change the path to the tracks to match your location in the NAV5. Use 2:\ as the "drive" letter when you edit the iTunes Playlist entries if you put the music on the SD Card.

Your iTunes Playlist entries will look like this:
/Users/...../...../iTunes/Music/Andrea Bocelli/The Opera Album~Aria/11 Cielo E Mar! 1.mp3

Once edited your Playlist entries will look like this if you put your music in the MP3 folder:

2:/MP3/Andrea Bocelli/The Opera Album~Aria/11 Cielo E Mar! 1.mp3

Easy enough to use a mass "Find/Replace" to make the changes.

NAV5 Screen Protector

Currently NuShield's recommended DayVue protector for the NAV5 does not fit. It is 2mm to narrow and 2mm to long. The proper screen size is (108mmx65mm) -1mm variance is acceptable. I have conveyed this to NuShield and have not heard from the yet.

As was previously noted the Vikuiti 3M ARMR220 for BMW Navigator V does fit (107mmx65mm) and can be acquired either at an Amazon.com seller or Protectionfilms24.com.

I just tried a new Bluetooth configuration based upon the proposed Scenario in the Sena SMH10R Manual. This actually works.

I have music from the Monterra and it gets it's Internet [Pandora] Radio connection via Wi-Fi Hotspot on the iPhone.

Some vehicles will connect via Bluetooth to the Nav V; some do not. The BMW auto cradle not only provides a speaker, but also changes from mc mode to car mode.

Screen Protectors

I think the NuShield folks have it sorted out now on their website. They have the correct sizing and they are listed under BMW, Navigator V 2013. You get two protectors in a package which makes the price pretty reasonable.
