Went last week, it was sensational, they were up for a good time on stage Took about 60 seconds to remember why Ian Moss is one of the best musicians ever

No Longer Bikeless

Thanks for the replies on the wanted ad a few weeks back. Ended up with this jigger from Jeffs Bikes in Mackay:

Second european bike for me so I'm immune to shitcanning from oriental bike owners.

So have bike but no friends. Experienced but not particulalry skillful at both riding and beer drinking. Any rides planned in the near future, or does the season quieten down a bit over the summer?

The bike shop mentioned Pioneer Valley Enduro Club run trail rides at Retreat Station. Presume that is mainly tightish single track which sounds like hard work this time of year on a big pig?
Some sort of Natural terrain MX there next weekend.
Also the Quads at Moranbah MX track in a week or two. Could be worth a look?

Good Lord man! what have you got there Plenty of good tracks to practice on around Moranbah, just follow the procession into the scrub on the edge of town. Get yourself some maps and have a look around the North up towards MT Coolon, Bowen River, etc, all easy dirt road stuff and plenty of pubs to wet your whistle. When Outback biker gets back he might be up for a few days rides close by, and Charlie will no doubt make an apperance on his new Tigga!

Maps

Any recommendation on maps? I have 1:250,000 Natmaps but they are a bit short on detail.
Are there any 1:100k or even 1:25k worth buying.
It looks like maps in these parts go out of date pretty quickly as these coal extracting mobs keep digging big holes and moving the roads.

Good on you bloke, a big Hussy, near as reliable as my pumpkin...
If you are keen, i'll show you around, i'm just a hop skip & jump down the rail line, you'll have to wait a few weeks but, we are leaving on a southern expediton wednesday morning if we ever get this damn harvest finished.
First things first but you may need a extended fuel range of around the 250-300k around these parts, 5l jerry on yuh back works well , just don't listen to the "rocket man"jokes!!
Actually thinking of having a Beer Bikes & Bullshit weekend at the farm at some stage!! might make it a 3 day affair, first day , some MX & single track around the farm,
second day , will be some local forestry trails & a pub lunch.
third day might be a run up to coolan if we are still able!! any takers??
