I rode my FZ6 on half the demo route on my way home - definitely more legroom, smoother, more top end. Still love the big tank and the centerstand.

But I tell you what, I'd be having more fun on the 650R.

I was too until the vibrations and buzz started ruining things.
The FZ6 also had better suspension and brakes, my other main complaints,
even for normal riding.

The 650R rear shock was a joke.
Even for my 200lbs frame the 6/7 was the only usable setting.

With some luggage or a passenger, I was out of luck.

Had better load carrying ability on my 125cc scooter.

You're a whiner.

My '06 could scrub the tires from edge to edge with 80lbs in the Givis and my fat arse on it. Sure, it was a little jumpy, but that just added to the, uh, excitement. And the vibes are there to remind you that you are alive, and on a bike, not in a cage

As always, YMMV. FWIW, the 2012 is smoother, no fairing buzz, and seems geared a hair taller. Really nicely executed.

And every single new styling update is said to have a better rear shock, too.
I've had the first version!

I scrubbed the tires too, but it was never confidence inspiring.

Fairing design looks lifted from the Yami R6...

I could not disagree more. Those damn pictures keep making me want to get one. Damn you, damn the pictures, and damn this damn thread. Damn.

(I secretly admire how much work/change Kawi has put into this bike for 2012. It's almost like they actually listen to the riders feedback, crazy huh?)

I don't get to ride much is my wife works late and I'm always watching the kids. But pretty much every day I go out and just look at my bike for a while.

That candy lime green is an awesome color in the sun. It is really an amazing looking bike.

And really just as much fun to ride.

Interesting because at 240lbs I rode my brothers 2010 650r all day yesterday and never thought the rear shock did anything but function perfectly fine.

My son is 280lbs and we have the rear spring turned up to 5 but it is comfortable for commuting. My Honda is tuned too far the other way for load carrying. The rear high speed compression hits pretty hard over bumps with my 150lbs on it.

I had heard that the ER-6F (world model) has passenger grab rails, and the external mounting points for them are where Givi puts their luggage mounts.

I don't see any way they'll be able to offer them in North America.
