my two cents. for the record i have probably ridden a bicycle less then 10 mlles in all since 1968(got my first motorcycle bridgestone 90 sport)
1.i think slide has the right take on riding bicycle
2. most bike riders are are courtious and accommodate faster traffic
3.in towns are where i see riders that piss me off. blowing stop signs etc. i would guess that those types are more collage students and the like and not hard core bike riders.
4. some bike riders do have an elitist attitude. I'm reminded of a trip thru the Rockies a few years ago,my wife and i were on motorcycles and came on a very large group of bicycles ,obviously an event or race, they were creeping up the mountains in groups of 6 to 20 or so,two and three abreast. it was bad enough for us to try to get around them but for a lot of r.v.s it was next to impossible. it took 2 hrs. or so to get around them all ,and i bet for a lot of the campers they ruined the day. took a long time after that for me to not class all riders with that bunch of inconsiderate a holes.all hundreds of them.

So you've never been stuck behind an RV going up those same grades?

I'm not sayin those people on bicycles weren't yahoos mind you.

One thing that keeps popping into my head is the relative efforts involved here. You're sitting in your 4-wheeled vehicle, comfy-cozy with the heat or ac on. All it takes is a push on the go pedal to accelerate from stop to full speed.

...or you're on the MC and all it takes is a twist of the wrist to go from stopped to full speed.

If I'm out in the middle of nowhere, I had to ride under my own power to get there. If I'm on top of a mountain, I had to climb that SOB to get there.

Instead of respect, I get hassled.

Gotta love life.

A mirror to the handlebar should do the trick and next time they'll think twice about obstructing traffic and endangering mine and their own safety.

You're right, they did not say it, they typed it. Hes not the first in this thread to say basically the same thing.

They'll probably just claim you photo shopped the video. Watch, you get a camera and the idiots wont show, but I doubt that.

gummy bear

just went for walk with my wife and dog

shared path with push bikes

we kept to the left, right for u

not one push bike gave warning when passing

went as close as possible

touched us

plenty of room not to

the dog wandered once

bike did not warn

so i could pull the dog over

he had the shits

both of us said sorry

not good enough for that fool

so as i keep saying cyclists are the same as the rest

no manners

arrogant

i when on a push bike never ride in this manner

on the drive home another cyclist did a very stupid act

the drivers saved him

works both ways buddy

We warn people, of our approach, constantly on our greenway rides. It is a rare walker that even acknowledges us much less moves from the center of the path or reels their dog in from his twenty foot extend-a-lead. There is a six foot limit on leashes on the greenway for the safety of others but most people use the recoil type leads and let their dogs go wild(This type of lead is a great way to teach your dog poor manners)

I use a bell about 30 feet back to warn walkers.

As for dogs, damn, are people stupid? I have seen walkers let their dogs trip runners with the leash, and crash bikes. What is it about dog owners anyhow?

I wouldn't bump gummee, but you're probably a good candidate for a mirror to the handlebar.
