He basically admitted he left the scene of an accident that he was part of.

"Shit for brains" is too nice a description of him.

Is it easier to pass this:

Its even easier to pass a group of cyclists taking the whole lane and riding in a compact group.

...but try telling that to drivers that can't seem to pass ONE cyclist, much less a group.

I jumped in towards the center of the back seat .. my fellow passenger did the same from her side ... we both had vehicles merging in towards us .. Then there are the traffic light GS starts.

Well, somebody's lying, that's for sure. Anyone know which guy's lying? I don't. I've seen drivers flip out about bicyclist, but I've also seen bicyclists flip out too. It's not clear to me that the Mayor's story is less plausible than the bicyclists story. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

This

Tho I've read reports that witnesses in other vehicles are corroborating the cyclist's story

It's never ok to use your car as a weapon. Witnesses saw the attack.

Nothing I have said could be remotely construed as me suggesting that it was.

There I fixed your comment to more accurately reflect reality. Do you have a link to an unbiased news source with actual statements from these witnesses. One which includes thier names and such?

I'm in no way trying to side with the mayor here. I'm just saying that we have contradictory accusation by the two individuals involved, and that's about it. People can and do post all kinds of crap on Facebook for all kinds of motives.

Mayor has no corroboration, cyclist says he has corroboration. We'll see how it shakes out when everybody is under oath
People can say anything in the real world face to face, too. The idea that the information is on a social media site, so therefore less credible than getting it first hand should basically shut down ALL media, social and otherwise, including ADVrider.

Your implication that the mayor may be right, that the cyclist attacked the mayor's car, with his bike, is absurd.

That's not what the mayor claims. It's interesting, and revealing, that you misrepresent in that way.

That is what I read. Has he changed his story?

"Furrer said Murdick grabbed onto his car during the incident, which Murdick denies. Furrer said he didn’t accelerate or swerve, but saw Murdick tumble from his bike. Furrer said he kept going, but turned around at the first opportunity to go back to check on him."

Absurd.

Big difference between grabbing onto a car that has pulled up alongside you and "attacking" a car.

I mean, he could have used his bike to shove the mayor's car into oncoming traffic.
Or possibly ridden his bike over the mayor and his car, seriously injuring or killing him.

Pedantic.

The mayor is lying.
