Garmin 276c Question (Points & Categories)

I've tried everything and am totally frustrated - maybe you can help.

I've got several hundred points (including all BMW dealers in the CONUS), it takes quite a while to scroll through the complete list to find a particular point. Both my 276c (S/W ver 3.2) and Mapsource (S/W ver 6.5) allow me to create categories for waypoints. So far, I've found that I can input waypoint categories on both the GPS and Mapsource, delete groups of waypoints by group on both the GPS and Mapsouce, but can only display desired categories of waypoints on the Mapsouce software - NOT on the 276 itself!

Can you tell me how to do this? How can I only display a waypoint category of "Friends"? Help!

Marc

Nevermind. You can't do it from the Menu -> Menu -> Points tab. You can do it by selecting Find -> Waypoints -> Menu

Figured you should be able to do it on any screen where you could see waypoints. My bad.

If ya send that in to Garmin support maybe they will include it a future software update.

Question 276C questions

I am considering a 276C to replace my SPIII but it looks as if the 276C does not have the capability to find an address. Can someone confirm if it can find an address in a city? I use this function on the SPIII a lot and I would hate to lose it.
TIA
Chuck

not true...punch in the 'find' bottun and a sub menu comes up for you to input 'city'...'number'..and 'street name' and awy ya go..piece o cake. Love mine BTW..get the screen protectors to keep smuges and scratches off the display...easy to download upgades and routes as well!!
