Nordhoff Ridge Ride, Oct. 29, 2011

A group DS ride up the Nordhoff Ridge, in the Los Padres NF is planned for Sat. Oct. 29, 8:00 AM. 8:15 AM kickstands up!

Each rider must contact the Ojai Ranger Station to request a gate pass at (805) 646-4348. Call the ranger station now to assure yourself that you'll have a gate pass. Only 20 passes are given out. Don't show-up without having a pass as I won't hold the gate open for anybody without one!

Meet at Rose Valley Campground off Highway 33. Adventure Passes are needed for your truck parked in the campground.

Bring fully fueled bikes, water and a sack lunch. I don't know how long we will be out.

Pack-in and Pack-out everything.

Directions:

From the intersection of Hwy. 33 and Hwy. 150, follow Hwy. 33 north 14.7 miles;

Turn right at the sign "Rose Valley Campground - 4" Follow this road for about 3.1 miles.

Turn right at the sign "Rose Valley Campground -1/2".

Park near the gate to Nordhoff Ridge.

Your internship is more important than this day ride. We'll ride some singletrack again before you go back and I'll let you eat my dust.

well from what i hear the "meeting" is just free drinks, a safety meeting and a softball game. should be great.

Sounds like fun. How hard are we talking? If my back is healed by Friday night I'll be there, though that is unlikely.

Easy fireroads, casual pace. I don't want anybody to go home in a helicopter.

Since I don't know the area, we'll do some exploring too.

Sounds like I'm SOL then? Not sure why a US Forest service area would require a special pass in addition to the adventure pass, but I guess in this case there is.

If anyone changed their minds and have an extra one they can offer?

Bueler?

Sorry, friend, but you missed a good ride. Other than one guy in a jeep, and an MTB rider, we had the range to ourselves.
