Details on New Location

Pick-up

NEW LOCATION ~

It's a dirt road near the Hunt Country Store. (state maintained)

In the hole,

Under the rock,

Beside the coop,

Coop is located in this curve.

Oh, and there's a horse farm across the road.
And if you make the grab on Sunday, the Hunt Country Store is closed, so you won't get to sample some of their great food.

Can you be more specific about how close to the hunt country store this gravel road is?

You're on Ridge Rd, you SOB!

We have a freakin' Houdini on our hands here, or F&B was just messing with me. I saw VaBuck's tag when I came in a while ago and figured I'd hustle on up there and see if I could either meet or Bruce F&B. Then I saw him. We met up and looked up and down a number of small roads near Hunt Country Store, but they were mostly private. So, after pretty much giving up, he headed up Free Union Rd, and me toward White Hall, both still looking. Well, I passed Ridge and remember it was a pretty long road, and voila, there was the spot, but no Brain.

So how you got to the spot before I did is beyond me, but I was sooo Bruced.

Nice to meet you.

BTW, VaBuckaroo, I blame you. "There's a horse farm on this road..." ???

What kind of clue is that?

Man, that's one out of four roads in the county!

No Houdini here, not that clever or talented. I just turned down the second gravel road I came to and it looked promising. Started to doubt the more it kept going but stuck with it and found the tag

I hung out, peed on a tree, smoke my fake cigarette, looked up a couple routes home, chatted with a jogger, and then left to beat the sunset home. So your way in to ridge rd must have been way longer than mine, and I headed back out the way I came. Sorry I missed you, but happy to finally Bruce somebody.

Oh yeah, I think I passed another horse farm or two, or thirty on my way back home. :)

"There's a horse farm across the road"

We thought this might make it too easy.

Glad you found it. Hope you got some good grub at HCS. They're one of my favorite places to eat. Their curry is awesome.

You kidding? No time for grub, and I was bummed about that for sure.

Maybe some other time.

New tag coming in the next couple hours.

Not too easy, not even sure it would have helped unless they have a website or FB

That's still every 4th road in the county... Maybe every other road near Hunt Country Store...

Nope, I was too busy running up and down little dirt roads getting dirty looks from horse people.

No harm done.

The Brain sits under another rock:

Standing next to The Brain looking back at my bike:

My right handlebar is pointing directly at the The Brain under the rock next to the big rock next to that tree, which is next to a river:

Another angle, my friend Rob's house is behind that tree on the right, not really a clue unless you know Rob, more of a fun fact:

Clues? Do you really need clues?

OK, If the highly emotional, curly frocked, perpetually oily, short shorted bundle of energy exercise guru owned the company that owns Old Navy and Banana Republic, and their headquarters were on this road, and if this road was named after this man and his company, you'd know the name of this road.

Now you just need to go ride this road until you find The Brain.

Tag: Along a road that sounds like you closed a device that might keep your cattle in a little too hard. Brain is under a flattened cardboard box by an orange soda can, jsut down the hill from another road named after a common local family name and generally known as "by way of". Brain is to the right of the bike, right of the tree in this shot.

Looking up the road:

There's a VDOT motor grader just out of sight at the top of the hill.

Left in the photo but right side of the bike. Too many shop manuals - right of the bike is always right side of the bike to me no matter how you're looking at it.
