Grab: Garth Road, not the one in Albemarle or the one in Madison.

Tag: (and who was that masked man on the red KLR in Stanardsville?)
On a road that's named for a (very) small round vegetable. _ _ _ Ridge Rd., number adds up to 18. Thingy is under the far side of the left planter.

You can just see it in the center of the closest side in the above pic, just under the edge.

Radish Ridge Road! My favorite!

'Twas I. Was hoping that was you doing some tagging. Sadly, I was on my way to work.

Grab!

Any extra points for the downpour grab?

I attempted to grab the tag on June 28 and this is what resulted:

I attempted to plug the tire in the Crozet Mudhouse parking lot and got all the way to the BP before I lost all the air pressure. Two hours later the tow truck arrived and Anton put on a brand new pair of K60 Hidenau Scouts (major upgrade from the Anakee 2's that were on there before).

Do we have a running list of previous tag spots? Being new and all I don't want to duplicate if I can help it although I do have some particularly challenging spots that have come to mind...

That nail is slightly larger than the finish nail I got in my new (less than 200 miles) rear tire a couple of weeks ago. Bummer, but I bet your new tires will work well on the gravel!
There isn't a tag map, tag away.

I caught the nail by the BLUNT end (wtf?!?) which sorta explains the giant crater it created exiting the tire.

In a rare episode of insomnia, I actually read through the whole thread last night and both spots I was thinking about were discussed (Top o' Jarmans had been used and Crabtree Meadows was nixed). I thinks it's time for the mouse to move south away from E'ville. I'll look for a spot later today. Perhaps one of the inmates closer to me (hppyfngy or LXDDLE) wants to give a new guy guidance on a south-of-64 spot we haven't used.

All that said, I'd ride with or take advice from anyone that wants it not just those of us located in a slightly more southern part of the area.

Maybe at the 3rd open ford in Albemarle? (not at Batesville or Buck Mtn).
Sorry, that's all the clue you get

Yeah put it there! Water shouldn't be high or anything...

Hey, he's riding a GS. According to my Touratech catalog, deep water crossings are what they were made for. (Hint: the 3rd ford is the shallowest).

Oh, I know where it is and the water shouldn't be a problem at all. Now, Burchs Creek, I don't know about right now...

I'm just looking forward to a report on those K60's.

I doubt it compares but I have done Cambell's Mountain Rd and the road to Crabtree Meadows through both stream crossings two-up. My g/f called me a wuss because I was going so slow lol

It's been 5 years or so since I've been through that ford riding with SST, VDOT has probably paved the world since then.
OK, I'll be nice - it's about 5 miles due West of Lake Monticello (in Albemarle though). It used to be all gravel, cut over forest land mostly, road is about 4 or 5 miles long. May still have an "Open Ford Ahead" sign as you turn off the paved road. Or not.
