OK, I'll be nice - it's about 5 miles due West of Lake Monticello (in Albemarle though). It used to be all gravel, cut over forest land mostly, road is about 4 or 5 miles long. May still have an "Open Ford Ahead" sign as you turn off the paved road. Or not.
I was through there last summer and it was still gravel/dirt and open ford.

TAG

As suggested, the third ford in Albemarle. Mouse is in the "V" of the tree in the picture.

Would that be west of C'ville?

I'm just looking forward to a report on those K60's.
Let's chat about the K60's...I got caught in the deluge last night at 940 coming back from Fredericksburg. I live off Dickwoods Rd and I can say that from Exit 124 to Exit 114 was categorically the scariest ride of my life. I never stopped fearing that if I did I wouldn't make it home. Long/short - the creek behind my house overran it's banks but the combo R12 and K60's got me home in one shaking, soaking wet piece.

I love the K60's on my 950. Hope you don't have to contend with the road wash out on DWR.

Yeah I heard about the DWR washout last night around 1am. Buddy runs fire down at North Garden gave me a ring to let me know. Thankfully I turn before that.

Don't want to jam up the tag thread with unrelated discussion...but I don't know how to "move" conversations

Went looking for the tag today.

Dick Woods Road 3/4 mi east of Ivy Landfill entrance late AM Sunday.

A ford, not much of one and not in Albemarle Co. A future Tag will go on this road.

Not a ford but in Albemarle Co.

I figured out where it is but didn't have time to grab and tag.

Tag!

For $13.50 you can order a CD by Old-time fiddler Jim Childress named after the road the tag is now on.

You can probably tell by the pics that the exact tag spot is at the highest point on this road.

Left my house around 4:00. Got most of the way there, checked the forum and was relieved when I saw that you hadn't found it.

I got there about 5:45 ish.

I was wandering around out there about the time you were headed over to grab it.

Ran into a couple, two up on a Beemer, and a fellow on a Triumph Tiger on Blenheim Road and stopped to chat. They were from C'ville but unfamiliar with our game. I told them to check it out.

The GPS wanted me to try Mt. Pleasant Farm road but it's gated, private and crosses the Hardware River which is a bit much for a ford. Finally narrowed it down to Jacobs Creek or Ed Jones. I'm guessin' Ed Jones was where it was.

Next time I get hold of the dingus it's going south.

Nope. I figured it out. Fingers crossed I can get out there this weekend if no one beats me to it! If you beat me, well, maybe the next one. Right now heading to Shenandoah Harley. I have a friend who got short listed to one of the 20 people to win a Harley. She doesn't know how to ride and you have to be present to win so I have graciously offered my services to ride her bike home for her if she wins it. Yes, the sacrifices I will make for my friends.... she better win.
