I assume you mean the pin is Steel, but the tower is Al? In order to weld to the Al frame.

Also, what bike is the GPR lower clamp for?

I don't have the DS. Mine is a older KTM Christini(steel frame). The GPR mount was for a KTM SX.

Not many posts here lately... guess everyone is out enjoying their Christini's!

Sure wish they'd upgrade to fuel injection... that's a huge wish list for me prior to pulling the trigger on a 450DS.

Anyone read the Erzberg race story by Chris Denison in the October '13 issue of Dirt Rider? He did Erzberg on a Christini KTM, and he said lots of good things about it. It was a great story.

I'll have to find the article.

I had a college job at Moose Racing when it was an actual mom and pop and Chris was about 5 and rode a pw50. good family

The AWD is awesome for when you screw up and lose momentum in gnarly situations. It allows you to self extract and save your energy for when your feet are on the pegs. typical "christini moment':

Been to busy to ride the past 4 weeks. Have a leak that needs fixing too that I haven't wanted to do in a 120 degree garage. Countershaft leak. Got HP Trans fluid collecting in a pan under the bike.

I'm guessing that with a double sprocket driving another drive system, that added side load will cause more seal leaks than the tyypical 2WD bike. Something to be aware of. Hate to be paranoid about developing a leak when on the trail now. Would suck to run dry and lock up the tranny.

I assume you mean "typical 1WD bike"? I'll check mine, but haven't seen any fluid on the garage floor.

Thanks, I had seen that footage before showing the rider drop into the crevasse, but didn't realize it was a Christini with the camera?

Oops. Read what I mean, not what I type.

Just coincidently at my local dealer for these yesterday. I guess christini has agreed to include just as this weekend an upgraded carb(pumper one i think he said) to all the 450's for same price. Makes it even more enticing since no more duel sport bikes from husky and not excited about ktms line up.

Interesting, didn't think they could get "50 state legal" with a pumper carb?
