Late Thanks
Chiming in a little late, but thanks for hosting this event!
I had a good ride on Friday with Calvin, Rob, Mark and a few others. Got to show them some of my favorite riding including Ophir Pass, Last Dollar Road, the long way around the Wilson range and Bolam Pass. Long day, no spills, no rain. Saturday I spent the day with Steve and Kim repeating part of Fridays ride. We ended up being stuck in Telluride waiting for the electric to come back on so that I could fuel up. I ended up getting some gas from a fellow inmate (Mitch maybe?) as he had a rotopax full and didn't need it. Thanks a bunch. Sounds like I would have been on hold till after 1pm. If anyone knows how to contact my fuel helper, let me know. I owe him a six pack!! And no, it wasn't a rescue as I could have just sat there for another two hours and made it to the gas station on my own accord. Just sayin'

We first of Thanks so much Big John, all organizers & those who helped. RMAR was a really great time. So awesome to finish my "Fly-ride West ride" at such a great & well organized event. Thanks so much.
Great to meet so many fellow riders & be able to share our great passion for what we love. Glad to see that of injuries, accidents that occurred at or after the rally have all settled fairly well as obviously the potential was for so much worse. Hope you guys are all OK. And... Well sorry to take so long to post but wow it has been a crazy time since RMAR. Got a ride 1/2 way back with Scott from Cleveland when while I was driving 6:30 Monday AM his drive shaft broke. Luckily we were in Des Moines Iowa with a Volvo dealer very close. Well having had very little sleep I got back on the Steel Horse at 7:30 and carried on for home still hoping to make it that day. ~ 11:00am started getting sleepy, then actually fell asleep. Fortunately I woke up as my right leg fell off the highway peg . Holy ![]() I needed a rest area bad. 1 more , head drop & . Scary!!! Found a rest area, rode right into the park into the shade of a tree, dropped to the ground slept for 20 minutes & back on the horse 7was able to stay awake for 12hrs till 11:30 Mon nite, 1 more head drop oh god! but I'm only 1 1/2 hrs from home. Speed up, weave, turn up the music, sing. Got home at last 1 am Tues morning . I was anxious to get home because my mom 85 yrs old was in the hospital with a shattered hip & broken leg, she was having a very hard time of it, all the family was very distraught & very busy back & forth to the hospital plus shuttling my Dad back & forth. This trip I had also been away from home for 4 weeks so there was a lot to be done on return. Then last Thursday my Strom, Suzi having been away from home for almost three years I guess was not very happy & blew her stack, threw up all her oil ![]() & just up & quite on me. Holy she was obviously not happy to be home. Poor gal, I felt so bad & there was only just over 60,000 miles on her, 2007. There goes my ride. Now what??? Shopping & I feel desperate & heartbroken at the same time. So much going on I need stress relief. . Well this beer is helping.![]() & wow it is getting late so let me share my best pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tennessee Todd & Lori. Love you guys!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Land Chris. Good to see ya Buddy. ![]() Hey Scott we did a lotta riding together. Fun! & thanks for the ride 1/2 way home. Hope it wasn't all that extra weight of cake on dirt & mud on the strom that made the drive shaft on your Volvo snap ![]() ![]() ![]() Rueben, love those sandwichs. ![]() ![]() Geez that Texan sure made that Strom buck!!! ![]() ADV salute, here's to the 2012 RMAR ![]() ![]() Group shot. Owls head pass. ![]() ![]() Hey did I mention I love you guys! ![]() Special regards as well to Rabbot (Rob) from NC & Brandon from Utah. Fantastic meeting you guys & what a fun week we all had. & of course hello to everyone else. Great to meet you all
