Flinders Ranges Classic 'V' - 2012

The annual Flinders Ranges Classic, this one #5, is to be held over the last weekend of April 2012 at the Angorichina Tourist Village, in the Parachilna Gorge between Parachilna and Blinman, Flinders Ranges.

People will be moving into the area on Thursday 26th April and most will be gone Monday morning 30th April.

There are cabins, a dorm and ample camping available. Cabins must be booked direct with the Village (get in quick) on (08) 8648 4842 CABINS ALL GONE but I can look after the dorm and camping side of things.

Let me know and I'll put your names on the DBW thread.

Great facilities, local hotels for pizza night or otherwise and an eat in BBQ on Sat night for $20 - all profits to a charity or two, probably Childhood Cancer and RFDS.

If it's any help to those contemplating travelling from afar, it's Anzac Day on the Wed before the Classic, so that allows some travel time in the lead up to the party...er......event.

Some adventure bikes meet along the way from Adelaide and travel up together on the Friday and we've had riders from Victoria and WA attend (how ya going Squilly?)

Although the Classic 'organisation' is about eating/drinking/campfires, I'm advised that many participants take motorcycles with them and that there are rides a plenty available to all corners of the Flinders, including awesome public access routes up to 40 or so kilometres long .

Well done Aaron and Emu, I'll book it in. I'll let you know, but at this stage I haven't got the dorm booked for Thurs night. I've asked Dave to do so but don't have the reply.
I'm hearing that some of the bigger bikes might do a run from Blinman to Arkaroola for lunch on Sat and then back again.....about 150km each way.

Well done MB. Have locked you into the Chateau Ango for those nights, in a room with a ranges view, and adjacent to the bar/patio area.

I'm guessing with a few adv bikes maybe travelling up there on the Friday from Adelaide that there's a chance you could cross paths...good luck with that. Let me know if you need any 'supplies' carried up this year.

I might take the 400E for a trip or two around some tracks around Blinman and the Tenere might get its first taste of the Flinders with an introduction to (1) Arkaroola, (2) Brachina, Bunyeroo and Wilpena.....looking forward to it.

Good on ya Gags, if you could let us know if you firm up - I keep the Village updated for their catering purposes and get an indication of starters for the Fri pizza night and Sat night charity BBQ.
