Was actually thinking making Butterfield (or another place) the meet point. We would have a good mix of big bike & small bike options. I for one would love to bring my 530 and explore around the area.

Morning dawns at the OMS (Occupy Mobile Station) Rally

Blake holding court

Think I was originally slated for group 4, but got conscripted into group 5 (HoW)

Group leader CA Stu was in a hurry to roll

SoCalPhil and spafxr

Thru the orchards and aiming for Nate Harrison

Regrouping at the S7 pavement

Made our way past Mother's and down East Grade before the fog packed in

Fun stuff

A little more blue sky and sunshine approaching Lake Henshaw

Rolled into The Hideout fairly early and waited for other groups to arrive before heading inside for lunch

One of these 'skewters' is not like the other ones

Lunch was followed by a little piece of Mesa Grande for desert

Thought I took more pics of Black Canyon, but the only one that showed was the very end approaching Ramona

A few dozen miles of pavement (Hwy78>Hwy79>S2>S3) took us to the top of Grapevine Canyon

Caught up with another group on the descent into the canyon

Their smooth sweep rider waved me by and I tried to pass as clean as possible

Nearing San Felipe creek, more blue sky ahead

Stopped at Hwy78 to regroup the group

Riders trickling in

Stopped at Stagecoach for supplies then made the Blair Valley loop on the way to camp

Setting up at Butterfield

Managed to find a spot with what turned out to be very good wind protection

Sure it was a little cold, but standing IN the fire seemed a bit extreme

I was in group 4, all great guys
Beechum1, Afry, Shunka, Homemadebob

little foggy

before ya knew it, LUNCH TIME

group 4 again, with quite possibly a few peckerwoods in the background

rider914 was happy to pose as he is always the one doing the shootin

then of course some more riding

set up camp, tent I don't need no stinking tent..... the wind made things interesting

Dj, beechum1 and I did a little ride after camp was set, I believe it was blair valley

headed back to camp for some bsing and drinking, things got hazy pretty fast.

Tent maker extraordinaire! Great shot with H8chains and the rainbow over Banner grade. Fun riding with you Caleb (sp?), you did a great job at sweep.

Sorry I missed you at julian. I followed Arny to Shinola. From there I went with Joel and JohnGil down to Alpine. You missed the best section of the whole trip!

I would have liked to continue on but I was cold and wet and ready to get off that mountain. Once I got to the 15 it was pretty warm and partly sunny.

In two hours I was home!
