I noticed from the booklet that the do briefings in different languages at different times. Might pay one of the support crew to attend the french one as well just to be sure...

After you have passed scrutineering you get a braclet put on ya, the color signifies racer, support, etc. It's got an electronic device on it, this is scanned entering, exiting bivouacs, briefings, etc
In exchange for putting some decals on your vehicle you get one of these passes that entitle you to free oil in the bivouacs....Tim and I have one (Ned and Bill respectively) so we can get oil each day for their bikes. Ned hard at work on Day one roadbook. All for now, Jonahs start time is around 5:45 am and we are hitting the road bright and early to try and beat the racers to tomorrows bivouac. Thanks for following along

Very cool Ted!
![]() Just noticed Ned has the same pocket camera I do, looks like the Canon S95. Not rainproof or dustproof as I found out the hard way and $140 of repairs later. Tell Ned to keep it in a baggie or something waterproof if he hasn't already. So now the FUN begins in earnest!! I imagine your posts will slow down on this thread you'll be so busy

Ted, it's freeking AWESOME having someone doing the play by play. Hopefully you will be able to continue uploading photos somehow. The next best thing you can do is to make sure Robb and Niles never run out of coffee.
Don't forget, your life will be in Robb's hands every day, keep him awake and let the fun begin...............Arctic Traveller. |

Ted could go to the briefings in French, then compare notes with the others who attend the English ones. I know, it's overkill, I've just been thinking about the waypoint snafu last year with Jonah.
