Why is it that no one can wait for Saturday night and the BIG party always seems to be on Friday... the night before the BIG Ride... by Saturday night there is no more booze or food (or energy) and we all have to run to the store for supplies...

And then there is the possibility of RAIN... you will wish you had a camper if it rains all weekend...

I am full this trip so no room for bike with me but someone else may be able to help...

Simple answer - buy a truck, put the bike in the back and pull camper.... you should have known! Its only money.

Treeman - I know of at least three big rigs coming so save us some room up where we were last time...

Looking forward to it.

Some were asking about big ride on Saturday... how long and how much dirt vs pavement... is it beasty friendly or would the KTMs be a better choice of ride.

Any info would be helpful...

Oh. Well excuse me. Didn't think I was raining on somebody's parade... just making a little funny. You know, like... haha! If you can only bring a bike or a camper, bring a bike and a tent and then you can join ALL the festivities!

Guess you put me in my place. I'll just go in the kitchen now and bake a pie.

Dont mean to put anyone in their place. I was the one trying to be funny....about leaving the bike at home to a bike fest...

But put off baking a pie until Treemans and then bring it with you and we can share. Might be good with a butter and Kraken demi glase...

I'm just going by memory & that is getting kind of sketchy these days... It is about 70 miles there about 70 miles back. that makes 140 miles total. Lunch & the main gas stop is 4 or 5 miles after the bridge. There is a couple of other places to get gas that are not too far off the route for the guys with small tanks.

Yeah, it's a shame we live in such litigious times.

Speaking of which, did you ever find a lawyer to help you sue the neighbor who set your place on fire?

It was the railroad that started the fire I guess you could call them my neighbor. I have not pursued it

Good for you. Cuz' behind every frivolous lawsuit, there is a greedy plaintiff.

Of course, it's always easier to blame the lawyer.

Enough of that, I'm looking forward to another splendid lunch at the palatial Port City Cafe, in Columbia, AL.
(where they keep a tight control on fresh Columbian coffee)

Haven't been to this event yet.
Would a KLX250 or KLR650 be more appropriate for the covered bridge ride?

Also, is there some trail/single track we'll be riding on the other days, or is it going to be primarily big bike routes?

The 650 is the choice for the long ride but there are trials at the camp site that the 650 would not really enjoy... bring um both if you can...
