That's Chuck (1150GS Adv) waving with Russ (1100GS) following behind... One you missed was me (KTM 640 Adv). Typical.... faster than a speeding camera... Looks like you had a great trip... Cheers

A pic of the two Wings. I can't believe how little they have changed over the years..
![]() This old boy came over and talked to me for about 10 minutes. His name was Victor and he spoke pretty good english, but we are pretty close to the border. When he first came up, he was sipping on a tecate( it is only 9:00am) and had two more in his coat pocket. You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning!!! ![]() Right after we left, I hit reserve. I rode for 45 miles( I can do 50 on reserve) I pulled over and took a couple of liters out of Brads KLR. Shortly after that, Brad hits reserve. Now it is a race for the border. ![]() ![]() Taken about 15 miles south of Tecate. We are starting to get out of the storm clouds. ![]() After crossing the barbwire, we get gas and run into a border patrol agent. Great guy. He said that on an 8 hour shift, they pick up between 600-1200 illegals a day, and thats not counting the 200-300 walking in the median of the interstate, they can't stop them because they will scatter and run onto the interstate and get hit. Now they can sue the person that hit them. Crazy, Huh!! ![]() East of El Centro... ![]() 20 miles from Dads house, it happens!!!....I pulled off the interstate as soon as the odommeter hit all 9's ![]() ![]() Were home. Good trip, good weather(for the most part) and great company. ![]() If you think this is the last salute, you are sadley mistaken........... ![]() We left the next day for Vegas. My Mom and Stepdad were going to be there for 4 days so we drove rode with Lee ( on his way back to Minden ) and he dropped use off there. Will post them tomorrow.

After we left Dads in Yuma, Lee gave us a ride to Vegas where we met our Mom And Step Dad. Only stayed two days, and the best thing I saw was "Big Elvis". This Guy sounds more like Elvis than Elvis ( if thats possible ), but he must weigh 500+ lbs.
![]() That is my Mom and Step Dad on the left, some friends of theirs in the middle, and Brad on the right. I think they will make great future Adv Riders. They have the right spirit!!!! ![]() Since I have left Yuma, Dad has put 120 miles on the Old Wing. He says he will use it for a local bike and has seen its last days for the big trips. If this bike could talk, it would have alot to say. GOOD THING IT CAN'T TALK........

Great ride report
L2R that was a nice report. You're very lucky to have a 73 year old dad who can still ride. I'm 63 and have been riding just 7 years -- both my kids think I'm nuts but it has become my passion. I'm planning a Baja trip this winter if my body holds out until then.
Welcome to the world of adventure!

Copper Canyon is one of those places I also have on my wish list. The only problem is that I have a bunch of friends from here in Kansas City who ride down to Mexico in mid December and I've told them I'll meet them there then. If I could work it out (i.e. if I still have some money left) I could possibly do both. Let's stay in touch and maybe we can work it out. I'm planning on putting some trip reports out there as soon as I get everything figured out on this site. I'll definitely put my Alaska trip out there. I only hope it's a tenth as good as your trip report.
