I went to pick up my fuel tank today, and while there this old Dunstall was sitting around outside...

So where was I? due to being a little under the weather of late, I have been unable to wave a spanner in any semblance of anger, so things down in the lock-up have all got a little dusty, not helped by the strong winds we have endured recently.

But that being said, a little work has progressed on my Norton Clubman project, as you will see from the pictures below. overall I am really happy with how it is all progressing, sure I see things that I would change if I were doing it again, the front brake scoop is not quite how I would have liked it, but for a first go at this type of thing I am happy.

The fuel tank looks like it is white, but that is just where the sun was reflecting off of the aluminium.

I've been here since day #1. I remember the day you found that ugly oil tank. And all the rest of it too. It's really my favorite build story.

I don't think you need to rush. What's going to be the fuel delivery system and the sparking apparatus? That and a long pipe it looks like it's almost ready to fire up?

Thanks for hanging in there

I will be running a MagDyno for the spark, as for the carb, I have had the inlet bored out to 32mm for an Amal concentric with velocity stack Getting it running is now my next stage.

Someone asked about my motor, as I seem to have two Well those black ones are just a spare set of empty ES2/model-19S cases I use for alignment, it is easier than shifting a complete motor in and out. Having said that, I do have about fifty percent of that motor too, so I may build it as a spare later on.

I have a list of needed parts that should just about finish the bike, nothing too scarey...

• Battery Holder
• Brakes
• Cables
• Carb
• Chain
• Chaincases
• Clutch
• Exhaust
• Front and rear Mudguards
• Gaskets
• Headlight
• MagDyno
• Mudguard Stays
• Oil Lines
• Pedals and Brackets
• Pushrod Tubes
• Regulator
• Speedo
• Switchgear
• Tail Light
• Valves and Valve guides
• Wiring Loom (I shall make my own)

With no sign of employment on the horizon, it looks like the end of the line with the Norton project, reality bites, and bills, like hell hounds come sniffing at the door.
I have as Baldrick would say, "a cunning plan" but even the most cunning of plans take funds to materialise, and as I was once told, there is always another bike.

So this week I shall pull the project together, and start by selling off all the other associated parts, before parting with the unfinished clubman.
It has been fun, but such is life sometimes.

Where it all started...

and now...

Sorry to hear that, Kev. I always looked forward to your build report. I hope you had fun with it along the way, and I hope to see your next project on here once you get all jobbed up again.

This is a sad day. I'll miss the project. Along with everybody else I'm pulling for you.
