Are they coasting it or in-landing it? There are a few termite mounds with hard hats on them in one section that we noticed on our way thru. Some have been dressed up. It must be a West Australian thing?

Just had another call from Phil

Having an awesome time but yesterday they had to do a lot of tar because they kept coming up to locked gates on the roads they wanted to use.
The chain is starting to make crunchy noises and they have a lot of deep soft sand coming up.
The plan is wait till I breaks then do a Podge on it.

If anyone has a few links and a joiner they would be very greatful.

Just asked phil and he doesn't think they'll be going near newman

This is there plan

Onslow
Exmouth
Mount Augustus
Carnarvon
Geraldton
Perth

or I think that's what he said.

I'd say by the time they get to Perth it wont matter but if any one is in any of the above areas that could help i'm sure bob and phil would be happy to do a little dance or maybe more in exchange for some chain links

Don't go to Onslow. We wasted our time going there, it's a shit hole full of miners! It's one way in one way out, 200km round trip!

OK.

Being at Millstream yesterday (?) probably means Karratha is well behind them now. Pity - couple of mc shops there that could have helped.

Exmouth - no mc shops there so ask around at servo... might be lucky
Carnarvon - Sandy McGinns 9941 2279 - never stopped in so don't know anything about them but wrth a try
Geraldton - a few mc shops there. Should be able to get what they need.

Lots of unavoidable slab on that route.

They should make a point of stopping in at Coral Bay (south of Exmouth). Nice beach & bar. Actually if they get their tide timing right (for Yardie Creek) they could ride from Exmouth to Coral Bay along a limestone coastal track.

There is a dirt way in (from the north) and a dirt way out (heading south)... but you're right nothing to see there, skip it, not worth the detour.

And if they do end up going to Mt Augustus, make sure they have a beer at the Bangemall Inn at Cobra Station on the way.

And either one of us had more teeth in our head than the whole crew at Cobra.

But they are really good people there
