I like the first comment. My kind of race fan.

I bet the NJ F1 race won't happen either.

Bernies POV. Sounds like to many hands in the cookie jar. If it's true it sounds like typical southern politics kill another one.... Anyone remember the Nascar track that was supposed to be built in New Orleans until the local crooks, ugh i mean Politicians got involved???

Bernie's side of the story

Stoner threatens to walk away if the CRT rules come into play.

Which of course I read as "If I can't have the absolute fastest/best bike on the grid then I don't want to play anymore"

I don't see it that way. It seems to me that he is afraid that the prototype aspect will be lost and it will become more like spec racing.

If there is anyone in the paddock who could just walk away from the whole mess and not look back, it's Casey Stoner.

He kicked Rossi's ass while he was on a bike that Rossi could only get near the podium once on.

true!

800cc world titles: Stoner 2 Rossi 2 Lorenzo 1
Stoner was the most successful rider of that era, with the highest number of race wins.

I am optimistic, though. I wouldn't mind seeing 25 riders aboard 5 or 6 chassis manufactured by a cottage industry and using 5 or 6 brands of production-based motors. I rather rooted for the old pushrod Buick powered Indy cars. I liked those Chevy powered Lolas from back in the day. The Chaparrals too. I could get behind this formula in MotoGP. Maybe one day we see the OEMs supplying motors with factory support, while their racebikes are made in specialty workshops. I would think that could work for them.

Maybe Casey walks away in 2013, but probably not. I don't think he has fuck you money yet! Reality will sink in when the prospect actually arrives. I mean he showed up in Japan, didn't he?

Interesting times, but if the man in charge truly has the conviction reflected in this interview, we're in for a sea change of some sort!

Thanks for posting!

Stoner during his Ducati years did so in 2007, but it was also the beginning of the 800s, and the Duc was pretty good out of the box back then. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 he finished behind Rossi in championship points.

Dont know how comparable those Bologna bikes were at the beginning, and the end of the 800 era.
