A second time. If he succeeded, that is... But if he leaves, there's obviously no chance of that.

Just to be clear: I could care less if he brings the Ducati up there - I ride the "one litre Duc eater" myself Now, if he were contracted by a certain other Japanese brand to bring their MotoGP effort back, THAT would make me cheer!

Remember Rossi lived in England for a while, right? I don't think he is a nationalistic Italian with real ties to being a legend in Italy.

I think Rossi has said this was part of his original motivation for moving to Ducati (along with being PO'd at Yamaha for giving the bike he developed to a competitor). So yes, its a tacit admission that even if he is as big as the sport, the rules of physics don't bend even for him. Possibly it has been a humbling return to earth for a superstar in his 30's, but implicitly, like any good racer, he is calculating his remaining laps against his tire life and will settle for a podium if he can't eke the win.

If he can get back in form, he might be completely unencumbered by allegiances and an even more merciless opponent than before.

Of course he is. If he wasn't, he would stay on the ducati and blame his lack of success on the bike.

I can watch Catalunya 2009 every day and never tire of it.

Let's all agree that anyone who cares even the tiniest bit about motogp racing wants to see rossi on a competitive machine. We are all rossi fans. The only discussion is what logo should be on that machine...

Don´t know about everybody being a fan. But personally I do take my hat off for a guy, who´s won 9 world titles.

I started following the sport actively around the time, when Rossi was a 125 rider. He just often seems to be there in the mix, when you think about the most legendary races from the last decade or so (excluding 2011 and 2012 of course). So yeah, getting him closer to the front would probably lead to more interesting racing.

Especially now that Casey will be gone, MotoGP can´t afford this to become (Lorenzo´s) one-man show.

It´s pretty evident, when it is wet, that Rossi can still be fast on a motorcycle.............. (even though his ambition could outweigh his talent sometimes !!)

But still fast enough to take it to Lorenzo, when they both ride M1´s? I really don´t know. Maybe those guys don´t know it themselves, but both are very confident on their part, just like every professional races, who believe they´re the best. Would be very interesting to see, how it is.

All sorts of tweetering that the Rossi move will be announced early, maybe today or tomorrow.

I think it would be fascinating to see Rossi back on a competitive machine. And, I don't doubt that he still has what it takes to run at the front. But, if you watch Catalunya 09, man, Lorenzo was giving him everything, and I wonder how much Lorenzo has improved. Rossi better bring his A+ game!

I would love to see Rossi move to Yamaha, then watch Nicky figure out how to win onthe Ducati and win his 2nd Championship...

and of course Ben on to World Superbike with BMW and win a championship there...

Rossi / Spies conspiracy to free up a ride?
