Spalders was talking about Marques being able to run a different gear ratio than others because of his weight and give up one corner to gain on 3 others. This coming from a huge budget and last years unlimited testing.

That said, Pol Espargaro is becoming quite special too.
I had heard the rumours about MM's bike, but I think his performance yesterday put that to rest. Fiddling with the ECU isn't going to help on a wet track.*

As for Pol, his performance at Phillip Island was breathtaking. If you can't win the series, thrashing the field by that margin is the next best thing.

*I asked the Race Director at Phillip Island about ECU tampering in Moto2.
He laughed.
A lot.
Then he muttered something about some idiots at the back of the field slowing their bikes down...

Forget whatever you're doing now, turn off the volume on your computer, and watch ATF from Australia. Seems Gavin has finally stumbled on a winning formula for the show: Extended interview of Lauren Vickers.

Also, someone needs to explain the blue flag to Ellison.

Ellison did nothing wrong. He held a consistent line. Blue flag or not, it's always the overtaker's responsibility to overtake safely.(we don't have mirrors...) . George fucked up. Spectacularly!

From what I gathered in Ellison received no blue flag. Lorenzo should have been a bit more patient imo.

Blue Flag - Ellison?

[QUOTE=wiseblood;20029494]Also, someone needs to explain the blue flag to Ellison.

Whats to explain,
JL's lose/highside was his own doing, from what I could see the rear stepped out first and the ensuing events followed.
Ellison was committed to his line and in that instance his position/line was predictable.

To suggest Ellison was responsible for JL's actions is difficult to fathom, after all JL has control of the throttle on his bike and to suggest highsiding from behind another rider is in some way attributable to the rider in front - dont get it I'm afraid.
Had JL been run off the track or had the gate shut mid corner - can understand that but highsiding from behind JL can take credit for his error.

Seems like there's a need to point the finger (or flag) at anyone thats near the ordaned if/when something goes wrong.

Blue flag or not...it is still up the rider making the pass to make it safely. Like J.S. said...considering the one line/wet track, Jlo should have been more patient.

I have not seen one pic or video of Ellison seeing a blue flag. Even if he had in turn in the wet you aren't going to change your line, unless you go real slow through it. It was all J-Lo's fault and yes until you go back to the 500 days and Schwantz he is the king of high-sides, glad to see other than a sore leg he is fine.

I'm pretty sure Jorge knows it was his own fault. He would have been waving fists and cursing at Ellison as soon as he got up.
He looked like he felt guilty to me.

If you have s subscription to MotoGP.com you can hear him blame Ellison after the race http://www.motogp.com/en/videos/seas...orge+Lorenzo+1
He said Ellison looked back at him, moved off the line and then back on the line. I didn't see it, but those are his words.

Ellison shouldn't even be out there, at Indy he cut the track several times just to pick up a spot or two. He wouldn't get off the racing line there either, even though they were waving blue flags.
