Anyone notice Lorenzo whinged a bit that the 1000s are too fast?

Some interesting things Alex Briggs said on twitter yesterday.

In Sepang we rode a new bike. But not just new 2 us, new 2 everybody. It had been run at 1 other test a week before! In the past this never happen. The bike may have been ridden 20 times by the test riders in Japan or in Ducati's case Mugello before we would see it. Then our test would be a private test that no one knew even happened. But things have changed. Rules, testing limits & media have all changed the way testing is done. So u guys r now lucky & get to see or hear about almost everything that happens in a bikes development. Twitter also puts u right there with us. Kinda cool I reckon.

I remember a test we did with Mick in 94 or 95, Honda flew 1 bike 1 engineer & the team manager to eastern creek in Australia. We turned up & we tested cylinders. 1 day completely private. No media no marshals. Just JB's stopwatch & an Ambulance. That was also very cool now I look back on it!

THAT was a Dean Adams Classic! Right up there with Rusty Bradley, which is my all time fav.

Bravo Dean! You have such a great sense for the human part.

So we are all experts and know everything there is no to know about racingLet's see who knows the most and enter the MCN Fantasy Race League. I setup an ADV Private league.
It works like this; each "manager" is given a budget of 10,000,000pounds and you need to pick two MotoGP, two WSBK, and two BSB riders and you get points based on qualifying and race results. There are a few chances to change your team around during the year. So sign up and register a team and then PM me and I will give you our private teams info.

Lorenzo Concerned About Top Speed of 1000s

Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo has been quoted as being concerned about the safety issues posed by the top of speed of the new 1000s. Specifically referencing 350 kilometers per hour (218 mph) as expected speed on some of the MotoGP tracks with long straightaways. He seems to be concerned about a flat tire or other mechanical issue causing a rider to go down at these speeds. He has suggested a top speed limit (which could be enforced by an ECU standard).

It should be noted that Valentino Rossi (Ducati) does not seemed concerned with any safety issues relating to the more powerful bikes this year.

This sounds more like the words from YMC not JL to take away a possible big Honda top speed advantage.

IF Marquez´s eye injury heals. It´s taken so long, that I wouldn´t use the word "when". It seems they don´t know the truth about it either.

I do sincerely hope, that he will be back to 100% very soon, for his sake, and for Moto2´s sake. The dude is awesome to watch.

I don't think there's any indication (from what I've read) that it isn't healing, the article that had noted his progress only stated that they are taking extra measures to make sure it heals well.

What have you read that is different? He had a head injury that damaged his vision. After a long recuperation he still can't see so they decide to operate. Sounds pretty ominous to me. Almost experimental. Do you know something about the procedure and have reason to believe it will be successful?

Like I said, what I had read (after the surgery) gave no indication that anything was still wrong, just that they were being very careful. I can't say I know where I read that, it was a few weeks ago now, yeah? I'm very hopeful that he recovers well.

I was cheering for Bradl, but it'd be a damn shame is Marquez can't race again. That guy has some talent.
