First day trip on KLR

Hi all, new to this site. I just got a stock 2008 KLR with 2.5k miles on it. I have put on about 400 miles during first few weeks. Here is a photo (town of Patagonia) taken last weekend during my first "long" ride. Rode from Tucson Az. to Patagonia, then on to the border (Nogales) then back to Tucson via hwy 19. What a blast, would have liked to ride with others but, solo ride was intense. (got my head right) Fun ride except for the numb right hand! Oh well, I guess i'll just have to get used to that:lol3 . I would like to know of any riding clubs in the Tucson area, please let me know.

Nice bike. Look under the regional forums - West. You'll find a couple threads dedicated to rides around the Tucson area.

I love the Tucson area, a fantastic place to get your desert dirt/sand/rock ONN.
ADV is the real deal man, huge community in your area. Welcome.

Nice ride!

Get yourself a quaility 'bash' plate and a set of highway pegs, and you'll be ridin' that thing everywhere!

Welcome to ADV.

I'll second that suggestion. The stock ones aren't real strong... but then I take my KLR places most others probably wouldn't.

Ouch on the plastic skid plate. I just cracked my JNS Engineering plate, but it did its job and kept me from walking home. The weld broke on the right side by the water pump. Love the plate otherwise.

Congrats on the KLR
I have an '08 as my first bike as well. I used to live in Tucson, few years back when I attended college there. The year the Wildcats won the NCAA.

Enjoy your ride!!! Jealous for the weather down there this time of year. My '08 is stored away.

Put yourself a Vista Cruise on that bike. Or maybe even a throttle rocker. I prefer the VC.
