ADVJakes analogy to MTB touring was a good one I reckon (possibly KTM's long awaited Electric version of the Freeride is even moreso aimed at that type of - legal offroad - usage), but given the design parameter, wieght/output vs rpm figures I think it's a fair bet that the transmission will be more akin to a close ration enduro/bordering on trials... rather than a wide ration touring set up.

My mum used to have a TY175 to ride around the farm on... the light weight, low seat height were appreciated (but not the lack of padding though ) , and you were in top gear before you got out the driveway... so cruising long distances was never on the cards...

I think the 350 Freeride will tick a lot of boxes for folks who want a day playbike/trailbike... like the XR 200 and TTR 250's of yestyear...

By knocking the compression out of it and detuning it by about 50% to DR 650-like power output... at half the wieght... it should be fine!

So, if I buy one of these things, will I automatically be able to ride like the guys in the video?
(If the answer is No, I will sue for false advertising....)

Thats why KTM's motto is "Ready to Race".

The repayments are that high you can't afford take away any more, and after you've pushed the bastard back to the shed from the far end of the top paddock, you should now be lean, mean and "ready to race".

It used to be "Out of the box ready to race" well the out of the box bit worked, but the rest... well.

I thought it was "Every rides like a bucks party".

Before you start you have to get everyone to agree no pics!
