Rubens would be a nice add for the series.

Maybe someone could hire Sutil too. He'd have them all in stitches.

I have to say, that Chevy V6 sounds pretty good. If you can overlook that it makes only half the power, it reminds of the Renault and Honda V6's of the '80's in F1.

In other news, I see the drivers are now quite pleased with the new car, having worked out in testing a lot of the problems they had with it. Ovals remain an unknown, they say. Nice to read about the harmony between the drivers and IndyCar.

Single file restarts on the ovals. And heat races for qualifying at Iowa.

It's just nice to see some good news, after the dreadful end to the season. I hope it continues.

Drivers pleased with new car on latest oval test. Great to hear it. The thing was a pig when they first ran it out late last year, rear-weight bias they said.

Sounds like all the testing and everyone's flexibility in making changes has paid off, both on road courses and ovals.

New group signed to run the Baltimore race. I understand there's some skepticism they can pull it off. I hope it's misplaced.

I read yesterday that now that Sarah Fisher has the money to run a team she can't get any engines.

She'll get them, they cannot afford to let that happen.

That would be a terrible mistake. She must have pissed off someone in the series, because she has always gotten minimal support. When she was a young driver, and one of the personalities regularly highlighted as a "face" of the series, there were years where she couldn't get a ride for all the events.

Those were the years when Tony George was funneling money to many of the teams, and you'd think he could have assured her a ride. The publicity of having a competitive female driver in the series would probably pay back the investment many times over.

If the IRL can't get her an engine deal I think I'll be done watching, or at least caring about the future of that low rent soap opera.

Hoping for the best. Randy Bernard already tried once to intervene on her behalf. I imagine he'll try again.

I guess the root of the problem is that Lotus can't fulfill its obligation.

I haven't seen any solid reporting on how Fisher got shut out (Not completely shut-out, Honda says it can supply her from Indy onwards, meaning she'd miss the first 4 races.)

Did she hold out for a Chevy then switch to Lotus too late? Did she get her sponsor too late? Haven't seen any good factual reporting on that one. Anyone? I understand at least one other team is in the same spot.
