Suzuki DRZ400/IMS Tanker Brace
The DRZ400 Tanker Brace is designed to work with the IMS tank and offer a solid mounting point for the tank while adding radiator protection in the process.
While preparing for a desert trip my friend ordered the IMS tank for his DRZ400 and found the fit to be less than perfect. The right side of the tank would line up with the mounting holes in the radiator but the left side was quite a ways off. Something needed to be done..... I made up the DRZ Tanker Brace to make a solid mounting point for the tank. Once installed the Tanker Brace also adds significant radiator protection as the tank wings are no longer connected to the radiators. With the stock IMS rubber stand off mounts the impact of a crash on the "wings" of the tank will transfer energy directly into the radiators, the Tanker Brace connects both sides of the tank together and ties them into the front engine mount bolt. It leaves a buffer gap between the radiator and the wings of the tank, even if you crash hard enough to bend the Tanker Brace it will keep the energy of the crash away from the radiators! I've made a similar brace for the XR650R for a couple years now, you can check them out here: CLICK HERE The Tanker Brace is fully Tig Welded and comes painted in a satin textured black finish. I will be offering the braces at a cost of $55 + $10 shipping in the cont USA. Here's a few pictures of the Tanker Brace mounted on the DRZ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hodakaguy

This is a great product! As you can see from the pic with the scuff marks on the tank, I have already tested the worthiness of the brace, as it did protect my radiators from any damage when I fell over crossing a log bridge on the OBDR trip. Much better than the tank being attached to the radiators!

I'm not sure on that one, my Honda XRR brace works with all the diferent tanks but was designed for the Acerbis Sahara tank. If the Clarke tank has the mounting holes in the same spot (most likely if it bolts to the radiators) then it should work. On the IMS tank the left mounting hole is off a bit so the brace is designed to accomodate for that, it's slight though. You can give it a try and send it back to me if it doesn't work.

well done! I had some problems in the past too, so it would be interesting. I think I'm seeing some radiator protecion in your photos, if so can I ask you which model they are or anyway which kind of protection I could combine with your brace?
also, please how much would be the shipping to Italy Many thanks |

Unibikers and Tanker brace?
Any idea if the Tanker brace makes it easier to fit an IMS tank to a DRZ with Unibiker radiator guards?
