Tengai roll call!

So i had my 91 Tengai for sale for a while but now she's off the market. Just wondering how many are out there still.

Tengai owners, sound off!

Yep, I've got one. 91 model with Staintune pipe, fairings a bit rough and it uses some oil (don't they all?).

108,xxx kms still goes quite nicely.

They seem to come up about once a month on Ebay.

Nice! I know there a few more out there. They seem to be much more common in europe and aus. I only know of one other in Canada! On the other side of the country

My '90 is still under a large restoration. 7,190 miles.
Latest acquisition took nearly two months to get here...

Toronto, I had wondered what happened with yours. There was a 2-week span where I saw 4 for sale in the North America. There can't be too many more of these floating around here.

Currently, there is a mass of parts that I have waiting to go on the bike.
Parts that reside in my bedroom for me to lust over are as follows...
Black fork boots
Fork wipers and seals
Fork oil
Front and rear sprockets
DID drive chain
Highway pegs
Tank bag
Avon Gripsters
MSR shift lever

Where did you find that beautiful fairing?? Yeah, I had a bunch of tire kickers come see it, plus one guy who wanted to trade for a klr-c. In the end, i decided i didnt need the money that bad, so I kept it and lowered it for my dad. And then i went and bought him a bandit on top of it. Please help me. I've bought 3 bikes in the past 9 months.

Oh, and pics?? Any screen that bears the image of my tengai instantly explodes due to the overwhelming beauty of it. Or maybe the rust/cracked fairings, i cant remember.

Pics will come soon

I'll post what pictures I've got later, but there isn't much to show just yet.

I bought that fairing from a guy in Estonia. 100 even including shipping.
Just need to get the other side. I'm going to get that decal replicated or have a someone really handy at airbrushing work some wonders.
Gotta love tire-kickers!

here is my 1990 Tengai

Plastic repair required all the old decals to go. I repainted some plastic pieces and applied web bought decals.
I will try to post a picture here or a link to it.
thanks

Just Got One

I had a KLR, but it had an engine catastrophe a couple of years ago. Since then I bought and sold a Honda Elite 250 (made great money on the deal) and a BMW K100 (lost almost as much as I made on that deal).

Bought the Tengai outside of Rochester, NY and rode it to Cleveland, OH that evening. This bike needs a larger front sprocket.

I also plan to do some repairs to the fairing before painting it.

Fortunately, I still have most of my previous KLR, so I have lots of spare parts.
